Ive been trying to play some games here and there but I have just been very busy this week. I started my new job with the Manchester Monarchs hockey team and I also kept my old job so I havent had much time to do anything and schoolwork is already piling up. Tomorow...Sat morning I have to work starting at 5am and going until 10pm...fun ...fun
I have gotten to play a few games here and there and for the majority of tonight and early tomorow before I go to work I will be playing a little bit because I just woke up from a 5 hour nap.
I have been working through RE Umbrella Chronicles and the game is a lot of fun....and it is a little difficult at points which is good because it creates some good tension. I also started playing World Championship Poker ALL In on teh 360 just to pass the time between school classes during the day. I played a little mario kart wii but not much, and i want to finish up a few games such as turok and jeanne d'arc fairly soon so i can trade those in....
BY the way I beat 2 games since my last blog and that would be Guitar Hero II and Guitar Hero Aerosmith bringing the yearly total to 20...I will update my list at a later date.
Also the next game I am getting from gamefly is battle of the bands wii, and from goozex it looks like I am getting bioshock with my points i have on there
This week for me is WII week until rock band 2 comes out on the 14th. I could play both systems at the same time but their isnt enough room in my dorm to set everything combine that with me being lazy and not wanting to switch consoles everyday ill just play one for a week or so.
Mario Kart WII:
I might have already done impressions on this before but I don't remember. Anyway this is a very good game . I havent played a Mario Kart since the 64 days but I am having fun with it. I surely wouldn't say that it is an elite title but it is one of the best games the wii has to offer. I love using the wii wheel to race, and I also use it for the other wii racing games I have and it is a great add on or piece of hardware. I like Mario Kart a little more than Brawl. 8.5/10
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles:
I just started this up today as I was in a bad mood and just wanted to shoot things. It is a fun game and challenging at points but the reason why I really like it is because there is a lot of depth to be found in the game. I also love all the other Resident Evil games so it is a good fit for me. The graphics and cutscenes/voice acting is some of the best on the WII I have seen. I have gotten about halfway through this before, but I am on a different wii so I had to start over. 8.0/10
Defend Your Castle WIIWare:
I had 700 wii points left so I just decided to get this because it looked the best out of the wiiware games even though it is only an internet flash game ported over. The game is really fun and i love the cheaply made on purpose graphics. The game can also get hectic as you advance to higher levels. And for only 5$ I would say this is a heck of a buy and it is the best wii ware game out there....maybe besides FFCC:MLAK but that is more expensive. 9.0/10

Well I it my mark of 20,000 gamerscore, and I did it sonner than I expected. I am just about done with GH Aerosmith(Im getting kinda burnt out with music games and want to take a break for a week or so and wait for rock band 2) After Im done with GH Aerosmith I think it will be time to whip out my wii and play with that lol. Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles
Ok Im gonna try and keep this blog pretty short but I am still working my way through Guitar Hero Arerosmith. I have had the game from Gamefly for only 4 days and have already accumulated 700 gamerscore. The game does not feature a lot of songs and therefore I am progressing through it pretty good. I have beat it on easy-hard and only have 5 songs left on expert. I have never even beat a Guitar Hero game on Hard before and with Guitar Hero Aerosmith I finally did, I also beat Guitar Hero II on hard and I am very proud in doing that. I already made impressions blog on this game before but its now set in stone that I will be giving this game a 8.0 or 4/5 when I review it.
So in large part due to GH Aerosmith I am very close to getting 20,000 xbox gamer points. I should have hit that mark by the end of the week between GH and Madden 09. Well this is shorter than I thought so I guess I will just end it here.
I got GH Aerosmith from gamefly today and it is a decent game. The biggest problem I have with it is that there are only 38 or so songs which is not a good amount for a 60$ game. I also hate that there isnt a lot of Aerosmith songs. Why is the title GH Aerosmith then? Personally, I am not found of the soundtrack; the Aerosmith songs are great but the rest of the music is not entirely in my tastes except for STP and a couple others. The good parts about the game are that between gigs the game shows interviews with all of the band members of Aerosmith, and the game is a little easier than GH III or even GH II for that matter. This game should have been a 30$ expansion pack rather than a 60$ full game. It only took me 3 hours to beat all of the songs on medium, and I have 300 and something achievement points in the 3 hours. Overall I would give it a 7.5/10 or 3.5/5 stars.

So first off i just signed back on with gamefly. Reason 1 is that there are so many great games coming out soon and there is no way i can buy half of them. Reason 2 there are a few games i want to rent to get some acheivments, and also ps3 trophies.
So i basically have only been playing two games this week because I want to beat them before I head back to college on monday.
You already know that Red Steel on the Wii is one of them, and I am up to 50% of the game with 7 hours and change of playing. I have the samo opinion of the game as expressed in my impressions blog, but a few levels I have played since them have been pretty cool and creepy, but you will hear more about those in the review of it. 7.5/10
The second game I want to beat by monday is Kingdom Hearts Chain Of Memories for the Gameboy advance. This game is basically the same as the first Kingdom Hearts just a lot more shallow and with a different combat style. The game was basically put out in between KH1 and KH2 just to build up hype for the next game. I am not the biggest KH fan, and this GBA game is intended for teh hardcore KH fan. Never the less I am enjoying it, but it is a very short play. Im 4 hours in and pretty much 60% done. 7.5/10

I forgot to mention my dad bought the wii game red steel when I got madden the other day. He got it for only 6$ so we both figured it was worth a shot.
So far after playing the first 3 missions with a playtime of 1 hour 15 minutes I like the game. It is not outsyanding but I like. The main reason why I like it is because it is just a lot of fun to use the wii remote to shoot things. The wii is the perfect console for shooters, and i think red steel does a fairly good job with shooting. The game is a FPS shooter set in the U.S and later Japan which deals with the killing of a Yakuza mob boss and the kidnapping of the main charecters girlfriend. Basically you play as an american who must learn the Japanesse way and save his girlfriends. So far the story has been serviciable but it is nothing special.
The action in the game is pretty fast-paced and like I said it is a lot of fun to play. The level designs and enviorments are also servicible, and one location inside a "massage parlor" turns into not a message parlor but a japaneese brothel. The game really doesn't have any cutscenes, just short hand drawn comic sequences between levels. Most of the story is told while the action is going on and teh game does a good job of telling it.
The worst part of the game is teh graphics which look like a decent ps2 game and is pretty much borderline crap for the wii. I can live with shoddy graphics because the game is fun and graphics really isnt that important to me. The sound and voice acting are not teh greatest but i dont have much of a problem with that either. I am getting teh impression that the game will be short, and I do not like short games, i like to play vast longer games.
Right now I am giving Red Steel a 7.5/10 or 3.5/5
