I fire it up, it gets to the "Ignite Your Spark!" screen and ironically freezes there every time. I've heard reinstalling doesn't help. Anyone else have this problem? If you had it and fixed it, how? I haven't been able to play this since it released. Thanks!

Great post man, I've caught myself eyeing the 3DS here and there and looking at the growing selection of RPGs. I'm a huge fan of the Etrian Odyssey series in particular.

@ravenlight: I did try this, and strangely they didn't *stay* deleted. As soon as I try opening the game again to no avail, I check back and see that those files are back. Maybe they're supposed to be; sorry, I'm new to this kind of thing.

Point being, unfortunately that isn't working either. :(

@haltiamreptar: Hmm, interesting. Well, as I understand it a Vita version should be on the way. I think if I had to pick I'd probably prefer that version, I was just so excited to finally play this thing that people have been so crazy about.

Tried verifying the files, tried deleting the appcache folder of the Steam app like the support pages suggested, tried restarting Steam, restarting the PC, turning off my firewall... nothing has worked. All I get is a window claiming the game is being launched which disappears in an instant and then nothing. Trying to launch it several times in a row gives me an error message saying the app is already open, which the task manager disagrees with.

Other games will launch fine. Is anyone else having trouble with this particular game on Steam? I'm new to PC gaming, still don't really know what I'm doing here. Thanks very much!

I used to be pretty good at these games, I've even finished a couple of them on the hardest difficulty. But this one is really tearing me a new one by comparison, especially this Archimedes tower or whatever.

Trying to parry is too risky because of the asinine recovery time it has, and if I get hit once in a combo I automatically get hit 2 or 3 more times. Why there are flames nearby I have no idea, because I can't actually throw any of these enemies. The sirens with the lightning are some of the most frustrating enemies in the series in my opinion, particularly when there are 3+ at a time. I know about using the L2 abilities and that they're supposed to give you a pretty good edge, but I hate having to constantly watch those tiny circular gauges fill back up in the midst of everything happening onscreen in order to use them as frequently as possible.

I can usually make it through the first of the challenges but with a thread of health left, so I get trounced by the chicks with the spears in the tiny, tiny, TINY fucking hallway that keep double-teaming me with vicious combos.

Any help here would be awesome. This game just feels so different from the other God of War games and I'm just not understanding why I'm making it so hard for myself. Thanks!
