Hmm, probably not classified as "rare," but maybe some gems of a sort:  Kuon, Fatal Frame II, two copies of Xenogears, Pa Rappa 2, Gitaroo Man.

I know communities can drop like a rock, but it's hard to know which games are still going strong, short of trying it myself.  So, what's still keeping you online?

(I booted up Syndicate tonight and was able to jump right in.  Thinking of getting back into the Killzone 3 multiplayer, or finally trying Uncharted 3.)

Wow, I didn't expect this kind of response.  Thanks everyone!

To update, after taking a break, I came back and repeated an earlier chapter for some halos, bought the Bat Within technique, then drilled straight through Chapter 6.  Feels good.  I know there will be more cursing and controller tossing and lots of "THE SHADOOOOW REMAIIINS CAAAST!!!" to be had, but at least I can move forward.

It was also a relief to hear so many hated this particular enemy as much as I do.

I'm normally way into action games like DMC/Ninja Gaiden/God of War (even finished God Mode on that one) and understand that the difficulty is the whole idea of fun here, but unless I'm missing some fundamentals of playing this game, this is over the line.

I'm currently stuck on Chapter 6, against the two Grace and Glory duos.  I can't seem to get hit one time without getting roped into an entire combo that nearly kills me.  I'm seeing a rose that pops up when I get hit, don't know what that is, but dodging successive hits seems very unreliable.  I was using Kulshedra at first but that thing seems kinda terrible so I switched back to Onyx Roses+Scarborough.  I have no items concocted and not enough materials to make anything.  Most times I can kill the first duo and then get scratched once by the next two and die.  I'm dodging my ass off, but as soon as I get two hits in I know it's time to dodge again, either because the guy I'm hitting can't be staggered or because the other one is about to smack me into the air from off-screen and pull some MVC-level air combo.

I understand that later on in the game there is a harder version of these enemies that are un-Witch-Time-able (you know, the ability that the player's entire success seems to weigh on), and am not sure I want to keep playing this thing.  I love the style, the depth is fantastic, but it's getting to be just too damn hard.  What am I doing wrong here?

I would also appreciate a minimum on the "well I guess the game just isn't for you/you just can't handle it" comments.  Thanks very much.

I'm actually listening to older stuff year by year and writing down time marks so I can eventually splice together personal "Bombcast Highlights" files to listen to or maybe show to other gamer friends of mine.  Also gonna splice together all the DSi Ware and WiiWare stuff at some point.

But yeah, I still get lots of enjoyment out of older Bombcasts.  Great laughs and discussions to keep me occupied at work.

I know I'll get flogged for this, but I'd have fun with a LEGO Matrix.

What would you like to see next from Tt?

The battery is considerably better than I was expecting.
At launch I got Wipeout and Hot Shots, and I find both to be pretty good installments in those series (though I'm a big fan of those so take that as you will).
Gravity Rush plays well I think, and is now free if you've got PS+ (as is Wipeout, Uncharted, and FF Tactics: War of the Lions (awesome version of the original)).
Mortal Kombat translates splendidly; great fighter to have in your pocket.
I'd say this is my favorite Lumines so far.
I could recommend a ton of PSP games, but I won't here.  However, they all scale up quite nicely, and don't look like shit like I was afraid they would.  Same with PS1 Classics.
I shelled out extra for the big memory stick, but I love being able to hold 20+ games on the device without having to carry carts around with it.
The game I'm waiting for the most right now is the Muramasa port.  I adored that game, and am looking forward to playing it with a decent controller and lots of extra content.
The biggest surprise to me:  The Netflix app works beautifully.  The quality of the video and the speed at which it loads content (at least in my case) is fucking awesome.

Hope this helps!  I got mine right away and, while it's easy to nag on, I am genuinely happy with it.

It requires Snow Leopard, which my computer can't be upgraded to.  Ordered it from Amazon and opened it to try syncing it, so I'm pretty sure I'm not seeing any money come back to me.  I guess I should have done more research or something, but I never imagined any considerable amount of horsepower was needed to sync a goddamn music player.

How are you guys doin'?

In my experience, Tekken was always far more comfortable with an arcade stick, as the timing of the strings can be pretty particular and you don't want to spend any time moving a thumb around to execute stuff.  It is certainly playable on pads though.  More than that though, Tekken is too much about juggles for me, and the momentum generally moves in one direction too long for a fight to be exciting for both players start-to-finish.  It's turning into the next Killer Instinct, and the whole game is gradually turning into "Who Can Pull Off Their Ridiculous Combo First?".

MK, on the other hand, feels fantastic on a gamepad with directional buttons.  I personally feel that's the way it should be played.  The fighting is also pretty solid, and for as accessible as it is there is depth there to be delved into.  MK is a great gateway drug into fighters and a fine choice for substantial fighting in any case.  Especially if Vita is your platform, I recommend MK.

Hope this helped!

It looks like it could be fun, but only the community knows whether it's balanced and interesting.  I'm just wanting to hear some thoughts on the multiplayer.  Is it worth getting into?  Why/why not?  Thanks!
