PMC-Gaming Concept
A PMC or Private Military Contractor is a professional army that is usually hired for security purposes but can be employed to fight in wars and keep order. Famous real life PMC's include the likes of Academi, Aegis Defense Services or Northbridge Services Group. Several fictional PMC groups have made an appearance in gaming as well such as the Merryweather security group from GTA 5 or Mercs from Black Ops 2. PMC's generally serve the purpose of being an enemy to be encountered in videogames however some friendly PMC's have also appeared in gaming.
