52 bucks got me...

Gears of War and Death Magnetic by Metallica. And impressions:

Gears of War: Seeing as this is my real entry game into the world of the 360, I must say I'm impressed. The graphics look awesome, and the action is fun and brutal. Although I have to admit it took a little while to get used to, I got my ass mauled about 7 times before I really started to get in the swing of things. And also:

Simply badass.
Simply badass.

Chainsaw gun: Don't mess.

Death Magnetic: I've been a fan of Metallica for a very long time, and my dad has every album they've put out (except for Kill Em All and St. Anger), so I have a wide view of their musical career. Now, with Death Magnetic, I really wasn't expecting too much. But a few of the songs actually were pretty decent, but some were absolute flops like The End of the Line and Broken Beat and Scarred, and The Juda's Kiss isn't completely bad, but it's annoying to say the least. The rest of the album either sums up as good, listenable, and sometimes actually great. My favorites from this album were The Unforgiven III, The Day That Never Comes, This Was Just Your Life, Cyanide, and Suicide and Redemption. Tracks like All Nightmare Long are a bit too cheesy with the lyrics dispite the great thrash metal riffs, and My Apocolypse wears a bit thin after a while, but I do like the thrash metal sound they tried to bring back from their earlier albums in that song.

Overall, Death Magnetic is a good addition to most Metallica fans collections. But they should really never consider making any more albums from here, they're re-hashing their sound and that can get dull after a while.

All right, impressions over. Other stuff I need:

New guitar
Distortion Pedal
for Rock Band 2 to get here nao dammit
a drink right about now...
