Built a new PC. Added a water cooler. It is apparently beyond overkill.

I will gladly play TWEWY again, especially if it's based on the single screen remake. The double screen wasn't hard, but it did feel like an unnecessay handicap - like clapping while jogging.

Tokyo Mirage Session #FE for Switch. I still want to play that game, but really don't want to use my Wii U ever again. Let's make it happen!

I own a copy of the Wii-U version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions, but I just couldn't get myself to buy a Wii-U. So now it just sits in my game binder. I need to get my purchasing habits under control.

Anyway, I would love to see a Tokyo Mirage Sessions release on the Switch.

Doesn't it have something to do with Steam workshop integration? IIRC, they didn't want the GoG version to be inferior to the Steam version, and for "Get it on Steam; the GoG version sucks" to be a commonly used phrase. Yeah, this game would probably not have made it a thing, but you can see how they would still like to prevent their services being tied to inferior versions.

Now I feel bad for playing the game for an hour with 9S in his underwear to get an achievement. Poor, sexy 9S.

Man, am I glad that I played NieR: Automata before GOTY talks. A sexy main character was the least of my thoughts while playing that game. That giant robot with the instant kill punch in the fighting pit, however... you cost me 4 hours of my life! It's your fault I forgot to save, not mine!

I find the defense of TLJ by parroting "Let the past die" while copying Empire's exact plot structure in twenty different ways a bit... disingenuous, but it's undeniable that a good half of the people who saw that film loved it.

I mean (TLJ spoilers):

-- An untrained Jedi seeks a master on a somewhat uninhabitable planet to train.

-- The Rebellion Resistance is fleeing the Empire after a devastating attack, and spends most of the movie being chased.

-- The Jedi master refuses to train the hero who sought them out.

-- The Jedi master is visited by a force ghost.

-- A vaguely illegal planet is visited.

-- An untrustworthy character betrays the protagonists to the villains.

-- The Jedi is tricked into abandoning her training early.

-- The dark apprentice kills his master in front of the hero (more Return of the Jedi than Empire).

-- The villain tells the hero of their parentage

-- The villain offers to rule the galaxy together

-- And a battle against lumbering mech giants on a snow - sorry, salt.

I mean, sure, the snow/salt battle against AT-ATs happened at the end instead of the beginning, but that's some "Copy my homework but change it a little so it doesn't look exactly the same" type stuff.

Edit --- Your top 5 is pretty solid, and I agree on your overall choice. Amazing film with brilliant atmosphere.

@conmulligan:

Vinny has been more than just a video producer for a very long time.

Jason, Jan, (and for a long time) Drew were mostly in the background.

Abby is somewhere between those two extremes.

It's alright. It seems more fun to reference than to actually watch, but I might just be over the whole sitcom formula.

@_brojangles_: What?

I'm personally in the P3>P4>P5 camp, but I'll be damned if P4 isn't the most popular entry in the series in the West. P3 seems to be coming up in esteem lately, but I'm willing to bet that most people would pick P4 as their favorite on English speaking forums.

If anything, the fanbase that was drawn to Giant Bomb because of the Endurance Run needs to come to terms with the fact that the team mostly doesn't care for JRPGs and that them playing Persona 4 was a fluke that is unlikely to be repeated.

Oh hey, so all the hubbub over this year's list was for nothing. 8 out of 10 of the stats derived games made the deliberation list.

Let's not be disingenuous here. The two most contentious games that many people are talking about either A) fell from 1st to 3rd/5th on this list, or B) fell off the top 10 list entirely.
