Oh God. Sky Sports referencing the 2005 6 car Indianapolis race saying "yeah but we still had a good race between the two Ferraris"... We really don't need to hear this!
@burgavo: @71ranchero: To be honest, I'd rather watch Formula E than Formula 1. Yeah, I know, it's crazy. But here's the reason why: I never know what's going to happen in Formula E, I don't know who's going to win, and it doesn't look like the sad, burning car crash that seems to be F1 right now. We've now have 5 different winners from 4 different teams in 5 races, compared to the 3 drivers from 2 teams in the entire 2014 F1 season, and it looks like Mercedes only increased its dominance over the entire field (1.4 seconds, really?).
@edgecrusher: @johnlocke: Here's the worst part about it; they had no choice! The financial landscape of F1 teams is so screwed up at this point that they have no choice but to resort to low blows in order to stay alive! We're talking a lot about Sauber now, but remember that Force India vetoed Marussia's return in other to get a bit more money from the television rights. And Ecclestone only let off some steam when the small teams brought up the concept of "cartel" and when the FIA endorsement could fall through because they could have not enough drivers to be recognized (I think the minimum drivers they need is, like 16, and if you look at the number of teams struggling right now, Sauber, Force India and Manor, they might not have enough!).
*sigh* ...Guys there's a reason I'm not as excited about Melbourne as I should be. Ever since Bianchi's crash, and Caterham and Marussia financial crisis (not to mention Force India and Sauber's inquiries), I think I've been drifting away from it. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to watch this week-end's race - at least it's not fucking Bahrein! - but I just feel I'm not as excited as I used to. Maybe I've gotten cynical, but I'm actually more excited about the Formula E race this weekend, which, if you told me and my father we would be such fans last year, we would not have believed you!
