  • The Witness is a rare breed; a game that makes you feel like an imbecile one moment then a genius the next, and for that reason I loved it.

The thought and creativity in this game are unrivaled.

I kind of hated the ending, not because of what it was, but for what it did to me, made me start thinking like a crazy person...

  • I went into this game not really knowing what to expect and not expecting much more than something a little different.

Good surprises included a fairly decent story in a fairly interesting world; the conversational dialog was in my experience the most unique and interesting part of this game. Everything felt like a fairly real conversation surrounding a series of bizarre circumstances.

The bad; the controls were a little awkward, using shift key for the main action button was maybe not a good choice, I should have just played with a controller and I probably would have if this game had been longer than 3 hours. This game was short and I'm not going to knock it for that; Firewatch packs a lot of very interesting things in those 3 hours.

While a lot of things happened in the game, I don't feel like anything was resolved, not very "gamey", more like real life, not sure how I feel about that, kinda feels unfinished from a player's perspective.

I did spend almost the whole time I played wondering what the girl on the other end of that radio looked like, that's a pretty rare thing for me and I liked it.

  • While this expansion has changed and improved the original release of Diablo 3, It doesn't feel like there is much new content here.

I played Diablo 3 when it first came out I put 30 hours into the game and it felt like there was a lot to do, many interesting choices to make; in preparation for this expansion I started a new character and played through the original game again in a third of the time, nothing seemed to matter, there is no strategy just pound on enemies until they are dead then go onto the next. This new expansion is just more of that, not much more, only one act which took maybe 5 hours to play through.

The boss battles are very disappointing, doubly so because I know how well they can design an interesting boss fight from playing WoW, the boss fights in diablo never go past "don't stand in the fire" which is one of the most basic concepts in all of gaming, they could do a lot more but they haven't and that is incredibly disappointing.

I did enjoy the seasonal characters which are new in this expansion and I look forward to building a class set of armour.

It's funny that RTS games are credited as the precursor to the MOBA genre, this is probably the first ARPG that I've played since spending a lot of time playing various MOBAs and this game plays almost exactly the same as Heroes of the Storm with gear and better talents, kind of makes me excited for what they can do with that game.

All in all this game just felt like a fairly average, phoned in expansion to a decent game.

  • The ultimate action movie fantasy, I expected more games to go this way with the more powerful consoles but that hasn't seemed to happen. Great story and some great action and unsurpassed spectacle.

I hate the gun fight sections of this game. I don't think I'll ever get used to aiming with a controller.

I bought my PS3 specifically to play Uncharted 2, but I didn't finish it until the day before this one came out, specifically because I was hyped to play this game, now 5 years later I'm only getting around to playing this game and only to get ready for Uncharted 4. I enjoy myself when I get into these games, but for some reason it's really hard for me to work up the urge to play them.

  • This game tried some new things and I appreciate that, but none of it made it a better game.

The story was a real time travel mess that made zero sense; the characters and their motivations made no sense.

Brutal product placement throughout the game, I can understand the microsoft phones and tablets, but everyone in this universe drives a Nissan...

I thought the combat was pretty good, but the last boss fight is probably the worst closing to a game I've played in a long time.

I laughed my ass off at the first episode of the in game tv show, that white Jetta is a tricky one to pass.

Really the most disappointing thing here is the dull nonsense story, everything else is extremely average. If anything this game just makes me really appreciate what Dontnod was able to accomplish with both Life is Strange and Remember Me.

  • I liked it, but it didn't have the same awe inspiring moments that made 2 and 3 great.

Probably the best story and setting of any of the uncharted games, I really liked the pyrate lore and the where they went with it, even if it was a bit unbelievable.

The gun fighting was better in this game than it ever has been, I still don't like it, but it's mostly tolerable here.

The rope swinging while stolen from Tombraider, really made the climbing "puzzles" a lot more interesting, a very good addition to the franchise.

The tomb puzzles felt really easy in this game and not very interesting compared to past games.

Overall this was a decent game but I don't think it had the spectacular set piece moments which is one of the most important tenants of the series and that's disappointing.

  • I bought this game in 2008, I started this game four times over the years and had a real hard time getting into it.

There are some fairly large difficulty spikes in this game if you are playing the game how it wants to be played. once I stopped worrying about conserving resources and started using all my abilities, this game really opens up.

I liked the characters and the world in this game, but I didn't think the actual story was very good.

The main story line quests are pretty good, but the side stuff was a whole lot of too much running around.

The game looks pretty good for an older game.

The best part of this game is the world they have created and I'm looking forward to more.

  • I started this game the day after I finished the first Witcher game and I immediately didn't like it, everything they changed felt wrong and this game was frustratingly hard right off the bat; mostly because of how different the two games are. I never felt the need to gear up or grind levels in the first game, while these things are almost required here, especially at the start of the game where you are incredibly weak. as the game goes on and you get more powerful, things seem to get too easy with the exception of a few encounters. This game is much more ambitious graphically but I think it's starting to look very dated now where I didn't get that feeling about the first game overall.

    I didn't like:

-have to meditate to use potions, no potions during combat just mean I'm going to ignore them until I get stuck, that sucks.

-Witcher powers seemed mostly useless, not enough damage, not reliable, waste of time.

-combat overall felt really weak, not that the first game was good, but it was different.

-too many characters so I ended up not really caring about any of them very much.

-story was a little up it's own arse.

-I died a lot in this game, mostly at the start, the load times to get back into the action are brutal.

    What I liked:

-The quests were more involved here, especially the side quests

    -Some interesting lore.

-Not as much pointless running around as in the first game.

I think I liked the first game better but this one wasn't bad.

  • I've never laughed so uncomfortably before

This game has a huge amount of bite and it doesn't hide away from anything, more like slams you over the head with some pretty severe observations about life.

This game had me laughing like a loony at some of the situations that were presented. Thankfully not everything, but some of the stuff in this game hit home in a really uncomfortable way and I think it's broad enough that many people would be able to see a bit of themselves reflected in one of the characters in this game.

It's good, It's short, and there is only one decision to make and it's not what you are thinking.

  • This game looks great, controls great, overall I had a great feeling of discovery while playing Abzu.

While very short and it still managed to feel repetitive after a very short time and I was getting pretty worried 30 minutes in, almost exactly at the point I was thinking "holy crap is this all there is to this game" they started changing the tone and direction of the story and it gets pretty interesting towards the end.

  • This game has a great eerie atmosphere and has a very imaginative/depressing world that may be one of the most original settings I've experienced in a long time; but a lot about this game's world doesn't really make sense and while it made me think, it also took me out of the game.

Controls are spot on, and great checkpointing which I really appreciated, I wouldn't call it a hard game but I did manage to die a lot.

The puzzles were on the easy side but there was a tonne of variety in the problems to be solved which was appreciated.

No spoilers but I found the ending to be incredibly disappointing; I was expecting more and it came off as silly and really killed the mood that the rest of the game had expertly crafted.

  • Oxenfree is a fine game but in a post Life is Strange world, nothing about this game measures up.

The visual design is well done but very plain, even the supernatural elements to this game just came off as boring.

The controls are very basic, there is no action here, just walking around the world, I did like how the conversion choice controls worked, basic but work very well.

I didn't attach to any of the characters in this game, there isn't enough of an introduction and splitting that short time between five characters doesn't give enough time to any of them to make me give even the slightest crap when it hits the fan later in the game. I think it would have been a lot better if they had focused on 2-3 characters.

The choices didn't seem to matter.

The mystery was boring and didn't go anywhere.

I wanted to like this game, but I just didn't.

  • Overwatch is a fun shooter that everyone can enjoy.

When I first started playing this game in beta I very quickly wrote it off as a Team Fortress clone and just stopped playing it.

With all the hoopla around the launch I decided to give it another shot and I'm so glad I did.

There is a lot of depth in this game and it is incredibly balanced which has lead to some of my best moments in gaming this year which I never would have guessed would come from a multiplayer game ever.

The game controls great each character plays very differently and more the most part I love playing them all.

Between the seasonal events and the metered out loot boxes this game has kept me coming back for more and has easily been my most played game for the second half of this year.

It doesn't happen very often but it feels real good when you open a loot box and it has that rare piece of loot for your favourite character.

Best game of 2016 and the best game I've played in a long time.

  • I'd be the first to admit that the Telltale formula is long past the point of being described as a little stale but for me these games live or die on the quality of the story and this one is right up there and in someways may be the best story Telltale has ever done.

It really blows my mind that they were able to create a completely new family in the Game of Thrones universe and be able to integrate so completely into the existing story line and add meaningful lore to the universe.

The choices in this game where as brutal as they where interesting and I really felt for the first time that the choices where difficult and meaningful to the story.

This game really blew my socks off. It's a must play if you are a fan of the TV show or a fan of Telltale.
