My Thoughts on Assassin's Creed 3 0

When Assassin’s Creed 2 came out, it was a huge leap forward for the series and it was almost a different game that the first game. Over the years since then, Ubisoft has refined the game systems and generally made improvements. With Assassin’s Creed 3, I was hoping that there would be another huge change in the way this game was played and while there are some nice changes, its not as big a change as it was from 1 to 2. Is that a bad thing? Read on to find out!GameplayI’ll start out with the co...

My Thoughts on Asura's Wrath 0

When I first saw the trailers for Asura’s Wrath, I knew it was a game that I wanted to play. Playing the demo that came out shortly before it’s release only made me want to play it more…but not for 60 dollars. The game was something different, something crazy and over the top. At the same time something just didn’t feel right spending 60 bucks on it. It seemed like mostly quick time events and while that might have been entertaining in the demo, would it be after a 6-8 hour game? I decided to wa...

My Thoughts on Darksiders 2 0

Back in 2010, Vigil Games did something very bold; they took various elements from other popular games and mashed them together to form something of their own. It was more than just a shameless rip-off and it created one of the best games of that year. Two years later they've managed to do it again, only its bigger and better in almost every way.GameplayDarksiders 2 takes gameplay from many different games. It takes combat from God of War/Devil May Cry, platforming from Prince of Persia (2008), ...

My Thoughts on Diablo 3 0

I never played Diablo 1 or 2. Believe me, I tried! I bought the game chest that came with both games and the expansion and tried multiple times to get into it, but this was years after release and all my friends weren’t really interested. It also had some old game mechanics (running back to your corpse, no respec etc) that turned me off of it. When Diablo 3 was first announced, I didn’t really care. Then I started watching some videos and took part in the open beta weekend and that cemented my d...

My Thoughts on Tales of Graces f 0

It’s been far too long for a proper Tales game to come out here in North America. The last big one was Tales of Vesperia back in 2008 and after sinking almost 200 hours into that one I was looking forward to Graces very much. Long story short: it was worth the wait.GameplayThere is so much to say about the gameplay in this Tales game so I guess I’ll just start off with the combat system. You have your A Artes and your B Artes. A artes have a combo tree that you can work your way up with each mov...

My Thoughts on Final Fantasy 13-2 0

Final Fantasy 13 was not a great game. It was also not a bad game but being a game bearing the Final Fantasy name, it should have been great. With Final Fantasy 13-2, Square Enix had a chance to right some of the wrongs in the first game and for the most part, they do just that. At the same time though, they add a whole new mess of problems that yet again keep a Final Fantasy game from greatness.GameplayThe combat system from FF13 makes its return in 13-2. You still have different classes and ca...
