David Cage should have played this shizzle

Today I was surfing the internets and came across a game I had never encountered before. "Star Trek: Borg" Being a big fan of startrek, I (probably like alot of you ) was a faithful watcher of TNG, DS9 and even the crappy Voyager, I have to say, I think this interactive movie game looks fucking awsome. Reading up on it, it was written by people who wrote the show. One of the best things of all though, "Q", one of startreks most awsome characters acts as a player guide being a sarcastic and condescending prick.

Having slogged through the boring, pretentious up it's own arse "Heavy Rain" I wish I played this instead. Graphics are better. Acting is better. It has Q (automatic win) and the Borg (another automatic win).

While we have this new startrek reboot that has acted as a reset button, with all these shows basically "the past". In retrospect, alot of the licensed star trek games were very good in quility and very true to the spirit of the shows. I need to try pick this one up. Hopefully one day they show up on steam or GOG.

Like a boss

Hello. This is a good example of how a superior force doesn't automatically equal an automatic loss in Shogun 2 unlike 90% of strategy games.

For some background this is a team game of 2V2. The opposing team is using "Fall Of The Samurai" units with high tier firefarm units and artillery. I am using two layers of "Yari Samurai" as a meat shield and sticking cloth units (monks) at the back. My team mates army is basically fully comprised of "Naginata Samurai". I have one set of cheap bow and one unit of "Fire Rockets". The bar in the top right indicated we are drastically outclassed in unit power.

While in single player alot of the time this is due to simply exploiting AI, in multiplayer it's a whole different story. If we had simply charged in at (02:35) we would have been obliterated. This is a mistake people make, they rush in head on or became scared to attack superior forces and just camp. Taking the time to whittle down forces with bow and fire-rockets then spending the time to move around, using forest as cover (walking keeping units "hidden" most of the time) renders most of his missile unit useless unless they break up and chase after them. His "Gatling Guns" are too slow to keep up and his "Parrot artillery" guns are too slow to get away from the hill at (10:40). Using the hill as cover, sitting slightly at the back as protection against fire-arm units, allows you to close in better. Thankfully, these players think they will win because of the bar and actually come towards our units. While my team mate engages him on the hill, I move around the side and deal with his missile units at the back. Like a ripple effect all his units begin to route.

Click 480 for slightly better quility. Over-all the video quility is fairly poor but I couldn't be bothered waiting an hour for 720p.

Beginners tips for multiplayer - Part 2 (units/moral/retainers)

This is just a quick run down of the units to give you an idea of how they are typically or best used. I want to stress just using tons of hero units or veteran units, do not mean you will win the game. Sometimes cheaper units can be much more usefull. This is a very diffrent game from playing against the AI in single player.

Spear Units

No Caption Provided

Yari Ashigaru - regardless of puny stats can be extremely important. They have a huge 200 unit size. This makes them ideal for allot of roles not just dealing with cavalry. For example, in games set at "low funds" many players will try to use veteran units and higher tier units. These being more expensive than normal units can make there army very small in size. By deliberately opting to use lower tier Yari Ashigaru you can simply swarm them with unit count in certain scenarios. Combining them with multiple retainers that maximize moral than make them an effective meat shield against FOTS firearm units. They can act as a barrier for many units you wish to protect such as bow units.

Warrior Nuns - These units have deadly melee. Like monk though they are extremely vulnerable to missile. It is usually best to keep these units at the back or hidden if possible rather than charging in at the start of a clash.

Yari Samurai - These units cost more than Yari Ashigaru but have a slightly smaller (160) unit size. The main benefit of these units is the sprint ability. By activating those when in range of missile units you can close in much faster reducing the chances of units routing and loosing larger causalities.

Naginata Samurai - These units have some of the best Armour in the game. When attacking massed archers or playing a siege, these units are excellent with excellent melee attack. They lack the speed of Yari Samurai though and are slightly weaker against Katana units.

Warrior Monks - Much like the Warrior Nuns, these units have deadly melee attack. And again, much like the Warrior nuns, being cloth units they are extremely vulnerable to missile fire. These units have less melee damage than nuns however they have better stats against cavalry.

Sword Units

No Caption Provided

Lonesword - These units have extremely poor Armour. However they are a cost effective melee. Ideal for low fund battles.

Katana - Katana have good melee damage and decent Armour. This is probably the sword class people use most. Due to the higher price point, it's still not a good idea to have them get shot up by missile units. They will do better than other sword units but it's still best to send Yari Ashigaru as they are around half the price and keep these guys focused on othermelee units.

No-Dachi Samurai - These are cloth units. Extremely vulnerable to missile attacks. However the charge they have is deadly as is there melee attack. I don't think it's a good idea to send these guys in first. I like to wait for a mash up to start, then send these units charging in as a shock tactic. In many cases the charge alone will units to route without the need for prolonged melee fighting.

Sword Attendants - These are extremely cheap units. They have terrible Armour and fairly mediocre melee. They can be useful for "low fund" games. But generally I don't bother with them.

Bow Units

No Caption Provided

Bow Ashigaru - Like Yari Ashigaru the main strength these units have over other units is it's size and cost. Other units such as Bow cavalry and Foot Samurai have better stats but a smaller unit count. Massed Bow Ashigaru can beat higher tier units with size. They also act as excellent defense and bait. The "hit and run" tactic mentioned in my previous blog can end up loosing more units when faced against massed bow Ashigaru. Likewise someone planning to play the game camping may put spear or gunpowder, rather than bow units in front with cavalry at the back or sides. By going in and taking a few pot shots then retreating behind other units, you can soften up an army before charging in or having them take the bait and charge at you. Gun-powder units lack the range of bow units. And some such as matchlock have very low moral. Excellent targets for bow. Likewise with cavalry, they have a very small size and with a simple few volleys you can cut the proportion down.

Bow Samurai- These are basically higher tier Bow Ashigaru. They have the ability to use fire and will in practically all cases, beat Ashigaru They are far more expensive though.

Foot Samurai - The main weakness of this unit is it's small size. Against Bow Ashigaru or Bow Samurai masses, they will be beaten. However the stats of this unit is superior. When not bothered by other bow units they will inflict larger damage against specific units. They are probably best units to target higher tier units such as nuns, monks and Katana.

Bow Monk - Like Foot Samurai, against masses of bow units, these guys will beat regardless of higher stats. These are the best bow units though. They have superior range making them the best bow unit for hitting armies steadily coming towards you are hitting players who opt to camp. With the extra distance the bow monk can hit units and retreat without the player able to do much about it unless he has a specific unit to counter it such as fire-rockets or other bow monks. When in a huge class, getting your bow monks to specifically target cloth units such as warrior monks, nuns or No-Dachi will inflict heavy casualties. These are fantastic but very costly units.

Matchlock

No Caption Provided

Matchlock act less as a killing machine and more as a "shock" unit. They excel at causing units to route. Almost any unit near the firing shots of these units will route after a sustained volley. These units are very useful and commonly used in matches using higher funds.

Cavalry

No Caption Provided

Light cavalry - These units are best used for low fund matches. Against any other cavalry, pike or even higher tier melee they will be defeated. Like all cavalry, keep them away from bow. These units can be useful for ambushes. Since they are low cost and low stat, the risk of loosing them isn't as bad as it would be with other units.

Monk cavalry - Excellent melee, like all monk units vurnible to bow units

Yari cavalry - These are probably the most used and most powerful cavalry outside of hero units. While units like Katana are superior in prolonged melee, these units have a superior charge and can end battle almost instantaneity upon making contact. These can be considered "shock" units as the majority of the time they act as routers rather than getting into melee.

Katana cavalry - Against Yari these units will get destroyed. However they have excellent melee and are deadly against foot units that are not spear. They are also slightly cheaper making them more cost effective when attempting to squeeze funds.

Bow cavalry - Like Foot Samurai these units will get destroyed by massed foot archers. The main advantage of this unit is it's mobility. With the "hit and run" mentioned in the previous blog post they are a fantastic harassment class. occasionally during a match a player will be so engrossed in a battle that he will fail to notice your bow cavalry sitting at the edge of his army whittling away units sat at the side or back. Try to always keep these units hidden or at the edges of the game map rather than straight head on.

Stealth And Siege units

No Caption Provided

As previously explained, do not bother with any siege unite barring Fire-Rockets. They cost allot of money, have poor accuracy and mobility. And allot of the time will be blocked by trees rendering them useless. Likewise stealth units like Kisho, Bandits and Wacko are almost entirely useless and not worth the time or effort.

Moral

No Caption Provided

Moral does not work individually. When units around a unit route, other units that haven't routed, get lowered moral and they them self may succumbed to routing. Moral is dynamic. Depending on the specific situation, moral may lower or higher. If a unit is a aware that there flank is exposed, moral will lower. If they are under missile attack while engaged in melee, moral will lower. High and low ground will effect moral. If a unit close to routing returns to a massed army, it's moral will rise again. It's very important to take moral into account far more than single player. Human players are intelligent compared to the AI and will moral into account. Be easily wary of fire-arm units. These are incredibly effective at causing units to route.

Veteran Units

No Caption Provided

In Shogun 2's multiplayer you can re-name units. Typically if a player has a Veteran unit. They will re-color the unit or re-name the unit to make it apparent to them while playing. This also makes it apparent to you. If you see a unit that has been renamed something along the lines of "vet unit" Elite unit" or something along these lines, it's a higher tier unit meaning typically more of a threat over other units. They should also be prime missile targets over lower quality units.

Retainers

No Caption Provided

Retainers are basically "buffs" and "de-buffs". They can increase stats of units or lower stats of the opposing player.Alot of the strategy in Shogun 2's multiplayer comes before the actual battle itself. It's very much like a game poker. You must select what you think will work best against the other players hand. If you suspect they will use lots of missile units, use a retainer that lowers the reload time or accuracy. If you suspect they will use lots of cavalry, use a retainer that slows them down and reduces charge bonus. There are many retainers and many combinations to be used. A simple but effect "meat shield" method is to specifically use retainers that increase the moral of "Yari Ashigarui" units. This can be very useful for low fund matches when you can simply swamp a player with massed units. Some units such as Fire-Rockets, Kisho and great guard require a specific retainer to be used. As you level up your avatar, more retainer slots become available.

Next blog probably try do hero units.

Beginners tips for multiplayer - Part 1

Starting in many multiplayer games can be daunting. With first person shooters they are generally much more accessible. With strategy games it is much more intimidating as it requires more input from the user. to succeed. Thankfully Shogun 2 is not a terribly complicated game in multiplayer. It's far more skill based though than single player as the AI will never compare to a human opponent. I am by no means a great player nor claim to be. I'd say I'm average at best but I hope this helps out someone who maybe wants to try it out as it is alot of fun and can take up as many (if not more) hours than single player. It's very overlooked.

Basics

As you may or not be aware, Shogun 2 uses a rock/paper/scissor system. It works as follows...

Spear beats horse...

Sword beats spear and bow...

Bow beats melee cloth units (monks/nuns)...

Cav beats melee (non spear) units...

Start with low fund matches and low star players

No Caption Provided

When you start Shogun 2, you will be given some veteran units. The rest you will have to unlock. Alot of players will have unlocked and leveled up veteran units which will be superior to yours. The best starting point here is to play games with low funds. This is because veteran units cost more money than normal units. By doing this you are limiting everyone creating a fairer more skill based battlefield. So, my suggestion, start with low funds.

The game operates with stars, new players have less stars. Avoid playing against silver or gold players. Start a room or join a room specifically built for lower level players 1-4 stars max. Doing this along with playing with low funds will help ease you into the game better. As you progress in stars and start to unlock veteran units, you can start moving up.

Cheat

A common method in Shogun 2's multiplayer is to have two players help each other unlock and increase ranks of units by allowing units to spam each other on opposite ends of the map and taking turns to concede. By doing so units for both players level up and campaign map portions unlock. This can be laborious but if you are really desperate to unlock units and upgrade them, this is a great method This isn't a bannable offense of anything, so don't worry about getting in trouble.

Concentrate on one skill tree at a time

No Caption Provided

The avatar skill tree is separated into three main trees. Commanding, missile (bow) and melee (sword). You can use all of them at the same time however I would recommend sticking to one specifically as you can become extremely proficient in one aspect rather than a jack of all trades master of none. In shogun 2's multiplayer moral is an incredibly important mechanic. A game can be lost and indeed most are by routing rather than casualty loss. For this reason, I would recommend using command or bow rather than melee. As these operate at a distance rather than up close and personal reducing the chances of your avatar getting killed off. If your avatar dies, you will have an extremely difficult time winning. So, along with the skill tree, remember to keep your avatar alive and rally units whenever required.

Don't waste your time with stealth or siege units

Alot of new players try out the stealth units or waste money on siege weapons thinking they will do massive damage. This is not the case. Siege weapons barring fire-rockets are extremely inaccurate and costly. Do not waste your time with them. Likewise, in multiplayer, stealth units are all but useless. The only siege unit that is actually useful are fire-rockets (more on that later). Stealth units will be found out at a fair distance from the desired target and will inflict very little damage before being demolished.

Use loose formation and hide against artillery

With the introduction of fall of the samurai, shogun 2 players have to contend with artillery. Unlike siege weapons in Shogun 2, these are extremely accurate and will inflict lots of damage. Allot of players will try to camp and simply spam artillery for 15 minutes if possible. In situations such as this the best thing to do is to put your units in as thin a line as possible set at loose formation and place them in hidden tree spots so the opposing player can only guess your armies position. Your avatar cannot hide. Take this into account. Generally speaking, at the start of the match, if possible, place your army as far back as possible in order to be out of range.

Spear is your friend

Typical behavior for other players is to try flank with cavalry. The units targeted are usually bow, your avatar or melee units like Katana. To counter this, stick spear units directly behind them, as close as possible. As soon as a cavalry charged, simply move your melee of unit back and your spear unit forward. If your bow unit is set on skirmish, they will do this automatically. When a unit in Shogun 2 gets engaged in melee, it slows down and cannot instantly get away. cavalry use smaller units. Even very cheap units like "Yari ashigaru" can inflict massive proportionate unit loss to even the more stronger caverlry thanks to there "caverly bonus" stat.

Hit And Run

When fighting players that camp (and this will happen alot) a good way to bait or inflict damage is to send bow cav using a method called "hit and run".

By using the speed advantage you can hit melee units and move away from any danger because they can do anything about it. This is great for damaging melee cavalry units in particular. They have weaknesses though. Against masses foot archers, they will get beat. And if they get caught by melee caverly, they will get beat. So you need to keep a distance and outright run away if the melee cavaerly comes after you. Allot of the time the player will give up chase and run, at this point fire bow rounds. They will chase you, do the same again rinse and repeat.

The other advantage is the range of the bow unit. Most gun units, while they have superior fire power, have inferior range. Matchlock in particular route super easily and are prime targets for hit and run. It can be useful against Fall Of The Samurai units as well. But given the huge amounts of them, you wont route them or do massive damage to the unit size. Remember to set the unit on skirmish, avoid melee.

Fire-Rockets are your friend

No Caption Provided

This is a small but extremely powerful unit (see video at bottom of blog). While they do not have the range of other siege weapons, they have far higher accuracy and can move around as fast as bow units. For each game they will do about 4-5 shots and have a much higher range than bow units. The best way to use them I find, is to send them out with a cheap pike unit (to protect them from caverly) and specifically target grouped units. Even if they miss the specific unit you are targeting, they will hit other units in close proximity. For cavalry, they are devastating and can route them with only one or two strikes. If possible, don't waste your time hitting units split off from the rest of your opponents army. Especially if they are in a single line loose formation. This will most likely be a waste of ammunition.

Concentrate bow on melee and specifically cloth units

No Caption Provided

During most games you will have a big mash up. It's typical to put spear units in front followed by melee sword units at the back such as katana. Cloth units (monk/nuns) are also used, these units have the best melee in the game barring hero units. They are lethal at close range but have basically no armour of any kind. Keep your bow units at the back out of contact with the battle, ignore the pike units and specifically target cloth melee units first and foremost followed by melee samurai units such as Katana. Many players do not do this and simply waste bow on cheap spear units while the real threat demolished there army.

Hero units are complimentary not the end of all ends

No Caption Provided

Alot of people think just using hero units will win the game. While it's true they are extremely powerful, they are also usually very limited in number. This makes them extremely vurnirible to missile troops and masses of troops. When using a hero unit, do not send it own it's own. Use it with other units. They act as a distraction and disperse the damage your hero units take. and specifically ignore the pike units and concentrate all fire on the sword

Cover is your friend

If you use cover correctly, you can destroy superior forces. (see video at bottom of blog).

Unlike bow units, gun-power units do not have a huge arc. Therefor, they cannot simply shoot over hills or trees. On specific maps, provided you play correctly, you actually have a larger advantage than what the game perceives you to have. Whenever fighting Fall Of The samurai units, attempt to use high ground as cover, place units, slightly behind so, so the charge range they have is closer without being inflicted with a longer duration of missile attack. A typical method I like to use is placing two layers of Yari ashigaru in front (using retainers that increase moral) and placing cloth units at the back. This acts as a meat-shield with your cheap units taking most of the damage and your melee excelling units taking the least amount of damage. The other good news, if they attempt to intercept with cavery, your Yari ashigaru will destroy them while getting shot up with friendly fire.

This is a case by case thing mind, it will not work every game.

I'll revise and add more to this later as alot can still be added. Specifcally on units, leveling them and retainers This is just a starting point I put together out of bordem. Hopefully someone will find it useful for getting into multiplayer though.

What happend to pc game reviews?

You know, I was just looking at the gaint bomb videos, then I checked gamespot, IGN and gametrailers and I noticed not a single one of them barring IGN reviewed Fall Of The Samurai. Probably the biggest pc game out at the moment. Even when IGN reviewed it, it got about half a page, without any video review and was stuck well at the back of the website and bumped out of existence by "top 10 bestest best bestyest" "best chair in game" "my opinion" none-sense best suited for a blog like this than a major gaming news source. Fall Of The Samurai has been out for around two-three weeks now.

In fact checking Gaint Bomb they don't seem to have done a single Total War review. The only pc videos I see are niche pc games quick looks usually mocking them. Likewise with gametrailers, no Napoleon Total War review or FOTS. If a game even gets misc DLC for a console, it gets complete attention. A video review and all. Gamespot hasn't bothered taking the effort for a video review for a Total War game since Rome.

This got me thinking. Aside from piracy (yes it is killing pc gaming and if you do it you are a cancer) is the gaming media as much to blame for the apparent phasing out of pc gaming (unless it's Blizzard) as piracy? I think it could be.

This isn't just a problem with Total War. the case with alot of pc games. Unless it has a huge publisher behind it, it's blanked out. Even though indie thrives on pc far more than console, it's XBLIVE and PSN games that get reviewed. If you check out gaint bombs video reviews atm, they are mostly XBL games. No balance, pc getting the shaft.

Top 5 things that are the most baddest thing in gaming

1 (this is the most baddest) Call Of Duty

People copy Call Of Duty. It's like cancer that refuses to kill you. It been years now and it could last for even more years and get even worse.

In the future, everything will be a FPS.

2. Pirates

The sad fact is, 99.99% of pc users are pirates. They use a pc because they like to jump on torrents and pirate. They talk badness about consoles and what they have done to gaming but part of that is because you are a bad person pirating. When people don't get money, they stop making games or just focus on something else. Pc gaming is now moving to free2play, casual and MMO's because these games are least likely to suffer from piracy. Practically every AAA game is console focused in no small part thanks to pc gamers just stealing shit. Pc gamers will make any and every excuse under the sun to try justify it. The fact of the matter is, it's easy to do with no repercussions, so you do it. In this regard, SOPA could help clean the scum from pc gaming and make it more superior than it already is (vastly superior).

3. Gaming Media

Gamespot is now run by people who look like they have just started growing facial hair. They look like some sort of genetically enhanced human made to look perfect. This is not logans run. With Gaint Bomb the staff look like high-school drop-outs, this is because they are what the typical gamer looks like. On most gaming websites now, all the older people have been replaced with young hip cool dudes you are suppose to identify with or aspire to be like. Being a female makes you one step away from Jesus status. Jessica Chobot got into the gaming media by being a girl and licking a PSP. This is how shallow the gaming media is. Naomi Kyle is a model who presents a show about gadgets. It's about asthetics above all else.

No Caption Provided

We have stuff like like the spike tv awards. That are basically advertisements for the mentally retarded under the guise of awards. The gaming media actively attempts to blank pc gaming out. Strategy games, flight sims and indie games on the pc, don't even bother getting reviewed. A console title with money behind it gets 21 out of 10 with collaborations between the publisher and website to act as PR. Overall the gaming media is like a rapist who doesn't stop raping

4. Awful ports and crap talking developers

I can understand developers moving to console, thanks for pirates (99% of pc users) and console users having much lower standards and being easily duped by hype, it's totally understandable why pc gaming quality has skydived. However, alot of developers (former pc ones) haven't just moved on, they have outright spat on the platforms face. Dungeon Siege 3, should not have been released on the pc in it's current state. Alpha Protocol should not the pc in it's current state. The pc is chalked full of former pc developers putting out awful ports clearly banged out as something on the side.

On the developer side you have people like Peter Molyneux sad, saying pc gaming is in "tatters". Well, what are you doing about it? Aside from creating Fable 25: Press X to win for the xbox? You have former pc (now console developers) Cliffy B, smirking about the sad state of pc gaming. It seems to me, these people are assholes and Gabe Newell (billionaire) is a pc gaming hero and a far superior human being to this pond life.

5. The Waggle

If you look at Halo and Call Of Duty, these games are popular because they dumbed down superior pc games for a mainstream audience.

Halo replaced 10 weapons with 2. Took away health packs. Added auto-aim and made multiplayer something more accessible. Likewise with Call Of Duty, it's about unlocking stuff. It's the carrot dangling formula from MMO's. This is not a skill based game. When you look at the wii, anyone can play it. You just stand and waggle or dance like a fool. The evolution of gaming, is simplifying. Simplifying means more money. In the future, games will probably be reduced to waggling your hips or moving an eyeball to look at something. Motion control will change gaming as a whole and should really be NO1. But it isn't.

Top 5 Games That Involve Animal Cruelty

From 1 to 5 (5 being the worst).

5. (HORSES) All Total War games

Something this game does that very few games do, is show animals as the casualty of war. Aside from seeing piles of human bodies after a battle, horses are piled along side them. Panicking riderless horses wander aimlessly on the battlefield.

4. (not sure what to put)

3. (CHICKENS) Crysis

In Crysis the player can use the nano suit for increased strength and kill both chickens and enemy by throwing the chicken at the enemy face. The player has no interaction other than throwing the chicken.

2. (DOG) Fallout

In Fallout dogs are both vicious and kind. In this game you not only kill dogs, you eat them afterwords. While in some cultures eating a dog isn't really a problem, it's interesting seeing how you can become attached to one, then eat it after it has died. This is fucked up, to a degree.

1. (PIGS) Rome: Total War

In Rome: Total War you set pigs on fire with oil and send them burning alive screaming at the enemy to scare them. The pigs in this game serve no direct combat purpose, they are used a moral mechanic with the only purpose in the game to be burned alive. The enemy can also kill them while they are being burnt alive. Apparently this is what actually happened.

Thoughts on the Call Of Duty phenomenon is Activision to blame?

No Caption Provided

Firstly, Call Of Duty is not an outright bad game imo. The original took what Medal of Honor done and made it better. The problem is what it has done to gaming.

No Caption Provided

It is now what to gaming, aids is to Uganda. People try say "it's because it's popular it's cool to hate".

No, it's because it's shit, it encourages more monetization by the company behind it being greedy cunts showing other chancing greedy cunts how far they can take it. It promotes a lack of innovating as well with uninspired clones and games that have, fuckall to do with it (Syndicate/Fallout/Skyrim/Xcom) being like it in order to get a share of that money pot. More bleeding people dry, less risks. Making familiar shit for the gazillion fucking billion trillion people playing it.

It's over-priced on the pc. Here, a pc game is £29. For £39 you can buy Call Of Duty. Why? Because they know they can. People will buy it. 6 hour single player, recycled multiplayer for £10 more than a proper manly pc game like Shogun 2 that you can play for 100 hours over and over. It's shitty port as well.

Is activision to blame? Is Bobby Kotick the devil?

No, you are to fucking blame for buying it.

No Caption Provided

Activision might be greedy cunts but who is the one feeding them eh? You. You you you you you.

It's your fault gaming isn't very good anymore. Thank fuck for indie games. Even though most of them are also shit.

imo.

We need more fishing games

When I was young, I use to go fishing. I was spinning, using lure, maggot in diffrent river and canal. Also try fly fishing but hurt arms. I would walk for miles to river, 3 hour walk. For years, catch fuck all. Nothing.

Hours and hours and hours and hours down the shitter. People say thats not what fishing is about but thats bollocks. You go fishing to catch fucking fish.

Only time I ever catch fish was in fishery. This is artificial. Full of fatted fish that are not proper wild, fed pellets and slightly retarded.

I like Sega Bass Fishing because when I play it, I can catch a fish very frequently. As someone who has fished and cought fuckall for the most part, it is supremely happy making to catch a fish every 2 minutes. The fellow in the game you role play as has much better fishing equipment too. I have shitty £10 rod from post office. He has £1000 jacket and shades.

This genre always niche but practically dead now thanks to fucking kiddie FPS. Hunting games with guns still live cause they like FPS. But fishing is more or less a totally dead genre. Lets bring them back.

Top 10 best singe player fps

1 (the best). Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3

Call Of Duty is the epic conclusion to the great FPS everyone knows. The reason it sells the most is because it is the best game. Best package. Both SP and MP delivered top notch experience. Halflife 2 is a very boring in comparison. Have no idea why pc fanboys claim it is the best first person shooter made. The shooting mechanics in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are some of the best in a game and it runs 60fps while keeping almost Crysis graphics. Halflife 2 has awful shooting, boring puzzles and is just as linear. The story is very mature and unlike alot of games, America is bad. Call Of Duty has continue to innvoate. In this one you blow up child. Very emotional. Last game shoot up airport. Modern Warfare (1) nuke city. Overall this is probably the best and deepest game of this gen.

2. Far Cry 2

Far Cry 2 is about going to Africa and hunting man like apolcaip now. But this man is not what he seems. Far Cry 2 like RPG with out boring leveling up. Even though it has leveling up. Unlike Resident Evil 5 which most people think is racist you also shoot white in people in this game so not racist. This game uses realistic mechanic of weapon degrag and fire. Modern Warfare 3 inches just about it because this game no have good multiplayer.

3. Halo (1)

Before consoles ruled fps they use to be sterile pc games. Lots of brown corridors of shooting doom and quake men. Most of the time people get lost in level because overcompliced. Halo change that. Take away 10 weapons, use two, have more straight forward design and relace doom people with more visually interesting aleins that look like pokemon. Also no more running round finding fucking health packs, health just regen and let you continue to play without fucked up pacing pc shooters have. Epic story, original gameplay, showed consoles could do multiplayer better than pc. First one the best.

4. Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2

This game less like militery sim and more like thriller movie. Very innovate, you play as bad guy for part of game but actually undercover guy. Either way, you can shoot people at airport and be bad. This raised eye-brows but very well done. Modern Warfare 2 have great ending, very much the Empire Strike Back of FPS. Like other Call Of Duty, very emotional, like Hollywood movie. Run 60fps and look nearly as good as Modern Warfare 3.

5. World At War

This game is cool because you get to play like Russian like very first Call Of Duty game. This has Gary Oldman and guy from 24 who shouts alot. This single player alot longer than other Call Of Duty. Rather than 5-6 hour, this take me about 8 hours to finish. This would be the best Call Of Duty if it had more story. All it is, is world war II, which is not a story just a bunch of stuffs happening that doesn't have anything to do with anything. Like I say though, like playing as russian.

6. Killzone 2

IMO this is the best looking FPS. It use special effects that give cool blurry effect. Look like real motion at times. The game itself, it basically Call Of Duty in space with a heavy gun. Some people hate the heavy gun because it feel laggy. I like it because it really feels like it has weight. The bad guys are basically space nazis who you beat to wn the game. Multiplayer is good, basically like Team Fortress 2 meets Call Of Duty..

7. Team Fortress 2

This game is basically a rip off of Team Fortress. From what I read, Valve didn't make Team Fortress, just buy the people and slap name on it. So technically, while they own the name, it is a rip off. The thing I like about this is that it is free. Graphics are ok but not as good as Call Of Duty. The unlocks are random so I don't get awsome feeling of progression like Call Of Duty. This is a good game, Killzone 2 improves upon it though.

8. Halflife

This use to be the best FPS until Halo dethroned it. This game use scripted sequences and no cut-scenes like other FPS. Story is basically doom, demons come from portal, attack earth. Overall pretty generic stuff. However the way it is told makes it interesting. The puzzle elements are boring though and have no place in fps. fps for shooting not jumping pipes or turning them. This game is mainly good because of mods.

9. Rage

I don't like Fallout 3 the shooting mechnics are not very good. This is basically Fallout 3 with better shooting and cool graphics. It rivals Crysis and runs 60fps on xbox. The story is crap though and multiplayer is cars instead of first person with gun. I like that you don't die and play mini game, more games should use this mechanic.

10. Dues Ex 2

Alot of people hate this game because it is not like the first game. Well, for one thing the shooting is better. The original Dues Ex had fucking terrible shooting. This games shooting is alot better. It is also more futuristic like anime. Original Dues Ex set in the future but places don't really look very futuristic. Also story is better. I understand at the start of Dues Ex the bad guys are using disease to control people, man made. However by the end of the fucking game I had no clue what was going on or who the bad guy voice. also original dues ex have fucking terrible voice acting. Only argument in which people can argue is that dues ex is more complicted. As game though, it is shit imo. Dues ex 2 while more simple, is better game. Dues Ex 3 also better but whole game fucked up by third person wall cover.

You can play Team Fortress 2 with bots. Also Orange Box.
