Hahaha.  You just summarized my feelings of them perfectly.  When I first saw them I thought "alright bat, fucking fly and see what happens...wait...what the fuck are you....OH GOD IT'S ALIVE...WAIT...THE BAT FOUND ANOTHER OH MY GOD WHY WONT IT STOP!!"

I had just cleared a room and there were several of the hole-in-head bodies on the ground...I walked over to the shop, I heard a noise and thought "just a slicer..I'll deal with him in a second."  I start hearing a lot of noise and kinda think.."what the..."  I turn around and see a bat thing has converted about 4 into durable slicers and was running over to another pile.  I just kinda sat there and said "wow, I'm so dead.."  It didn't end well.  After I respawned I went back and kinetic grabbed all the bodies and used the ripper to grind them into dust before I let the bats spawn.  I made those bastards pay.

haha...I kinda figured it out when Hammond actually started to provide information and Kendra was just saying he was crazy and dis-regarding his information...at first I thought Hammond was evil too, then I just wondered "why is Kendra such a bitch all of a sudden?"  I never thought she would work for the unis.

"Yea Kendra said the super fast ones were fast because they fused with the built-in stasis that the soldiers had. Stasis slows things down, so why did it make them fast?"

You can still see Kendras decapited and de-limbed body beside you after the fight ends.
On an unrelated note:  The biggest let-down story wise was how often I just said  "....are you effing kidding me??"  at moments when you would get a vid transimmison.."Nice job Issac!  You just restored the power....buuuuuut.....I left my drink down in the dark crew quarters, could you get it for me?"
Another un-related ntoe:  Can anyone tell me what was up in the begginning when you first get onto the Isshimura and they tell Issac to look at the monitor...and there is blood all over the floor but no one says anything?  How does no one notice and why doesn't Issac say anything?  Mute protaginists piss me off sometimes..

I felt pretty stupid at this part...I couldn't figure out what to do then I just jumped onto the asteroid without noticing the rings moved...I got sliced into a lota tiny pieces.

I found the best way to deal with those bastards was to have the mine gun(I only use it on these guys so I forgot the name...) and shoot two mines, one at their head and one at the bottom of them...it usually either kills them or only leaves one tentacle left clinging to the wall.

I have two in mind, the one where the invincible boss monster and several other monsters attack in the infirmary in the beginning and the quarantine that is activated in the Valor barracks...these gave me the hardest time on the hard difficulty, what about you guys?
