Invisible Inc should just be in the Top 10 because one member gave a speech about it.

Except it wasn't just because of that. It was his personal No.1. You would want your best GOTY to be there too. And also, he was ready to talk about about counterpoints, it was just that people couldn't really cause they either havent played it or didnt really have any.

Yes, but that is why each GB member has their own personal list. This list is supposed to be representative of the GB Team as a whole, and Invisible Inc. shouldn't be on this list judging from each of the previous comments in the podcasts.

I dunno. I don't think this year's list is fully representative of GB's tastes. Impassioned individuals seemed to have to much sway on the list overall. A vocal minority does not a sound decision make.

Vocal minorities: Jeff, Vinny, and Austin (Dan benefited from being pretty closely aligned with Jeff).

I know Brad said that their GOTY process is not a pure voting process, but more a dialogue that makes its way to a rational conclusion. All well and good. But! The final list should be representative of the group participating in said dialogue. And the list is not. I'm pretty sure. Hell, Bloodborne didn't make it. Witcher 3's at number 10. Perhaps more science is needed. Let's average their individual lists, shall we? (Perhaps someone else has already done this. I've only read a few pages of the comments.) Each game and the number of personal lists it made it on to. Of course, skewing these according to the placements on their respective lists would change the official list even more dramatically.

- Games that were cut:

Bloodborne: III

Soma: II

Ori and the Blind Forest: II

Undertale: III

Axiom Verge: II

Her Story: III

Lara Croft Go: I

Fallout 4: II

Galak Z: I

Life is Strange: II

- Official List:

10. Witcher 3: IIII

9. Invisible Inc.: I

8. Grow Home: III

7. Undertale: II

6. Rise of the Tomb Raider: IIII

5. Splatoon: III

4. Kerbal Space Program: I

3. Rocket League: IIIII

2. MGS V: IIIII

1. Super Mario Maker: IIII

- Games with most favor:

1. MGS V and Rocket League (argue it out!)

2. Super Mario Maker and Witcher 3 and Tomb Raider (argue it out!)

3. Splatoon and Bloodborne and Her Story and Grow Home (argue it out!)

4. Undertale and Life is Strange and Fallout 4 and Axiom Verge and Ori and the Blind Forest and Soma (argue it out! 5 of these last 6 need to be cut)

- Games that had no business on Giant Bomb's staff consensus list (great games, but not representative of Giant Bomb as a whole):

Kerbal Space Program

Invisible Inc.

Also, I'd like to note that Bloodborne and Witcher 3 would be even higher if "honorable mentions" and written sentiment were factored in.

I can't speak for everyone, but the resulting list seems far more appropriate and sensical. Given Undertale's high official ranking, let's give it the number ten spot. Though, I personally, would put Axiom Verge at number ten.

That's a list of some good-ass video games! Well, except maybe Her Story. Too artsy fartsy. But good on'em!

Edit: swapped Vinny for Brad in the vocal minority list.

Great list and points. I believe every staffers' opinion should matter equally, but from the way the GOTY podcasts turned out, it seemed like Drew, Jason, and sometimes Dan's opinions did not matter as much because they didn't deliver long, passioned speeches like Austin or Jeff. It just doesn't seem to be in their personalities to deliver such a speech, but they shouldn't be penalized for it.

@av_gamer: I think I might actually disagree. I think Austin basically made Invisible Inc. personal, in a way, as he basically said "this has to be on the list" (that was the subtext of his long and well-argued speech), even though the two other people who played it thought it was good but nothing spectacular. I think Brad let lots of 'his' games go, like Dying Light and Ori and Soma, he never made the kind of stand that Austin made by saying a game HAD to be on the list, though please tell me if I'm wrong.

Yup, your thoughts echo mine and this is why I was really frustrated with Austin's Invisible Inc. bit. From the staff's sentiments and experiences, other games such as Soma should have made the Top 10, not Invisible Inc

Surprised (well not really) at all the hate towards Brad and Alex. I thought Austin's defense/insistence to put Invisible Inc on the list and then above Witcher 3 was the worst moment of the GOTY discussion. I think Alex put it best saying that it only really only Austin who wanted Invisible Inc on the list (Vinny said he wouldn't put it on his), while Brad, Jason, and Alex wanted Witcher 3 on the Top 10. I thought Austin was really dismissive of anyone who said it shouldn't be on the Top 10, and felt that his speech alone should propel it through.

I think the Witcher 3's chances were hurt due to Jason's relaxed attitude (and his attitude is one reason why he is awesome), but I don't think a game like Invisible Inc should just be in the Top 10 because one member gave a speech about it.

Also, I didn't play any of the games on the Top 10 list (I don't have time to play games really), but I am just going by what the staff said on the podcast in making my decision on why Invisible Inc shouldn't be on the Top 10 list, or at best, #10

No spoilers please, but is Jeff correct about Life is Strange Episode 4 & 5 being disappointing? (He didn't say disappointing, but he insinuated it)

Not to be a total downer or anything, but this is actually a list of the top five IPAD games of the year. Now, you may think all 5 of these games is better than anything on Android, but for anyone that doesn't do apple products, this list is irrelevant.

That's why it is called Rich Gallup's Top 10 Mobile Games and Random Star Trek Cameos of 2015, not Non Apple Users' Top 10 Mobile Games...

Wait a minute, I thought this game was going to have dinosaurs in it. Did I miss something, or was there even any speculation that there would be dinosaurs in the game?

I know that these two games have different styles and aren't really comparable point for point, but in terms of "going somewhere to mess stuff up", I prefer GTAV to this game. From this QL even with Vinny piloting it, it seems that GTAV's world is just more fun.

I haven't played this game so I don't know what comes next, but I am completely befuddled on how next episode will handle the situation of this episode's ending.

Hopefully they don't take the easy way out and do a complete U-Turn
