Thats why Hitler is not in there, as well as Stalin or Genghis Khan. Also it would get banned in Germany, since it is alternate history. I am not sure, but I think in correct historical representation you can put Nazis in Games now. At least as opponents.  "

there are several WW2 RTS games featuring the wehrmacht as a playable faction, of course in none of them you're taking the position of hitler himself and doing genocide and stuff but, yeah
Yeah. Like Company of Heros, and such. (Men of War) Well. Also in most of these games you could not win with Germany in the grand scheme of things. You could complete your campaign, but without a doubt germany would loose WW2. A notable exception is the spirutal grandfather of the Civ5 combat system, Panzergeneral, which even allowed the Invasion of Great Britain.

Nelson Mandela: Very good pick. Impressive person. But not really fitting the description of Civ, since South Africa is more of a conglomerate of Civs, like most Commonwealth countries. (As is the USA, but they got absolute military power for a brief time and fake boobs.)

Ramp up the difficulty. Do not play as Japan. Go for a non-conquest victory. And you got your challenge.

But that changes over the years (see CoD vs. Return to Castle Wolfenstein, though the latter is far from historical correct).

This game is about progress, and not sadistic nationalist bullshit. Pick a civ. You will find a era of unspoken cruelty and genocide in it. No place for that in Civ IMNSHO!

Personally I would think that Kemal Atatürk would be great for the Ottomans.

But I doubt they will introduce more leaders only. But more Civs. I want the Vikings, the Dutch and heck maybe even the Austrians!

Ok. I went through my first couple of rounds today. Played alot with the Engi and the Demoman (a bit of every class except Scout) on CTF and some kind of zone control maps. Actually a lot of fun., but man, I forgot that PCs actually support a lot of players. Thats a lot of rockets flying around. Not so many opportunities to get tactical, and people still own me in close point blank encounters.

So, a question. There is no persistent leveling? The items drop at random? Thats a pity, I think I could really get into the Demoman. Is there a way to intentionally work to improve just him? Because something dropped for me (a horn) that I only could use with the Soldier.

Ok, ok I am getting it. Just trying it now.

I love shooters with a bit more depth. I recently tried BF2 and BF2142. But these are just crazy. Bad Company 2 on the console is currently my favourite shooter. The right amount of complexity, and still easy to have fun with.

What freaks me out about PC FPS are the dedicated servers. There is an "involvement" in there I do not want. I want to press a button that matches me up with players of similar skill and low latency. Oh well. We will see.

Hey guys, the current steam sale got me thinking. Is there any chance that a total PC-FPS noob can still get into this game. I played some FPS on the PC, but that was the Quake 3 Arena time, and I wasn't very good. I played a fair share of COD, BF and Halo on consoles, but never touched the PC again. So can I get into this game, or is it serious time investment?

" So what you're saying is...Intercontinental ballistic missiles...aren't intercontinental? oO "
Yes. I guess thats also why the games does not call them that, but simply nuclear missile. The OP only used that name.

In Civ4 there were tactical nukes and ICMBs.
