People who use 'then' when it should be 'than'. For example: I like Skyrim more then Oblivion. I just... it's such a simple thing and people get it wrong. I don't understand. I just don't understand it.
In general, I hate the way that people conduct themselves linguistically on the internet. If you're engaging in written communication, and you want people to take you seriously, at least fucking try to put together a coherent sentence (preferably with punctuation, capitalization, and no bullshit acronyms).
When people either write or say "nucular" instead of "nuclear". English is not my first language so i don't know if this is actually ok somewhere, but this really gets under my skin.
I prefer Windows Phone to Android. I prefer Android to iOS. Have you ever tried the Windows Phone OS? I am defensive and promotive of it, but given its reduced popularity, I think that I'm doing it a service in a way that I can. It really is the best OS and the Lumia 920 seems placed to become the best phone to ever be produced. No seriously. Also the Nokia Maps app is the best one out there. I can attest to that. It's so well localized even in Portugal, it's insane.
I also don't understand your complaint with Mischievous. How is it supposed to be pronounced "mis-cha-vous"? I can understand "mis-chee-vous", and that's how I pronounce it, but I don't understand where you got that "a" pronunciation from. Was it a typo?
And yeah, when people say they're boycotting a publisher's entirely catalog it's fucking stupid.
I can't stand it when people correct others about 'could care less', as if they've never seen sarcasm on the internet before. Just because it's institutionalized sarcasm doesn't mean it's not legitimate. It's not "I couldn't give a shit" it's "I could give a shit" (that's sarcasm too).
When people confuse the words "definitely" and "defiantly".
Came here to post that. Glad I'm not the only one. Not only are they not even close to being the same, autocorrect doesn't even have "defiantly" near the top of the list of words to correct a misspelled version of definitely. It's like 3-4 words down the list so it is purely people using the wrong word.
It’s pronounced the way it is spelled: “Miss-cha-vus” not “Miss-chee-vee-us.” For it to be pronounced the wrong way, it would need to be spelled “Mishchievious.” But it’s not spelled that way. So say it right!
I think that's kind of a weird one to get upset about. Do you rage every time people say comfortable "comfterble," which is the way literally every person says it?
@Humanity: Why wouldn't voting with your wallet work? Money is the only thing that keeps game makers doing what they do. Sure, if it's only one person "voting with their wallet" it's not going to work, but on a large scale it does indeed work.
This is really nitpicky, but I just hate seeing pictures of people's text conversations. There's no such thing as capital letters or punctuation anymore.
its all just one straight sentence like this that technically never ends cuz theres no period
Oh, man, that hurt my brain just to type out. What happened to grammar?
I was replaying Metal Gear Solid (Twin Snakes version) recently and at one point Snake says he could 'care less.' Made me seriously wonder if that's in the original, and/or if it was intended to be that way... Like, is the idea that Snake doesn't know the proper phrase, or was it a mistake by the translator and that was David Hayter's interpretation, or did Hayter read the line wrong... The subtitle even says 'could care.' It was kinda mind blowing. Wish I could remember what part of the game it was in now.

This is probably the only thing that reeeeeeeeeeally gets under my skin.
I can't let it go when people are wrong and have no intention of correcting themselves or learning.
I don't mind people not knowing stuff, everyone will always be unaware of something but its the people who bullshit like they do, or just say it doesn't matter just because they don't know that really fuck me off.
Also I don't mean opinion stuff, I mean hard facts.
Liars. Just tell the truth about everything, its always the best way. People who string together lie after lie are just so dumb and people know they are lying and think they are a complete arsehole. This was me 10 years ago and changing my ways was the best thing I ever did. If this is you now then change, you will feel better for it.
I'm starting to be increasingly intolerant towards people who are willfully ignorant and spread misinformation. I don't care what your religion states, if you say that Evolution doesn't exist or that Climate Change is a myth, you're a bad person and you are actively making the world a worse place. Calling Obama a Muslim or being a birther qualifies you too, in my mind. Oh, and that anyone that disagrees with your political beliefs "hates America".
Or that this is a Christian nation and our laws are decided based on the Bible, while you're a divorced man having sex outside of marriage and wearing a cotton shirt.
People that constantly misuse the words your and you're in sentences, and people that feel that hahaha isn't enough and need to emphasize it more with bahahaha or bwahaha instead. Both make me want to pull my hair out every time I see them.
Poor grammar. English isn't my native language but if I know the difference between "your" and "you're", "then" and "than" then so you, specially if English is your native language. Almost worse is people using "u" and "ur" though. It makes me angry just writing it.
That said, I am indirectly boycotting EA because I stubbornly refuse to download Origin. I'm feeling pretty good about my chances to hold out, at least until Dragon Age 3 is released.

Yeah I hate it more then AIDS.
This is just revenge for the shots fired thing, isn't it?

@yeah_write: If you simply type "@username" the person you're calling out won't get an automated message in their inbox notifying them of your reply. You need to either hover over a post and click either the "Reply" or "Quote" button that'll show up, or alternatively you can just type an "@" and you should see this menu.

People who are too attached to their hobbies that they lose their goddamn mind any time a person says something like "Eh, I don't like this about the thing you like," or "Man, I wonder if this would be an interesting thing."
Apparently the correct response is "What? You fucking asshole. My thing is perfect and you are dumb and probably evil for disagreeing with me."

Before I start, I'd like to say that I did begin a full boycott of all games published by Capcom in 2012, regardless of whether Capcom owns the developer or not. They have consistently frustrated me time and time again, whether it's not promoting games that deserve it (Ghost Trick) or their awful DLC/re-release plans. I'm boycotting the company's business practices, not just avoiding a franchise or two. I'm voting with my dollar, and I'm voting against Capcom.
The only thing I can't let slide on the internet is outright bigotry or hate speech. I'll let just about anything else go if I don't have anything else to add.

I can't stand a double standard.
Because by large it's a theory that will never work. Let's say the entire Giant Bomb community decides to vote with their walled and not buy Blacks Ops 2 because we want something MORE or whatever (I personally don't have an issue with the Call of Duty franchise) but thats an example anyway. Well even if all of the GB users don't buy the next game it will not even be a dent in the overall sales. So people saying "well if you buy games from this publishers you're contributing to the problem" are annoying because the only other alternative is to just not play games.
