We've come a long way with the technology eh?

This stuff is all relative.  I feel old watching stuff like this, but my parents would feel the same way watching me using a typewriter or a punch card computer for the first time.  We're no different from them, we're just from a little earlier.

I don't know, I feel like when I was a kid I wouldn't understand what an 8-track or a theremin is.  It's unreasonable to expect a child to have a lot of knowledge of the way people lived before they were born.  As a child, I didn't understand why clothes had to be ironed, and why straight razors, disposable shavers and electric shavers all looked so different if they did the same thing, how ink and quill worked, how charcoal was both used for art and barbecues, and so on.  It's only with age and experience we learn how a Moog synthesizer is different from a piano, or how a vinyl record is different from a CD.
