This is something that has bugged me for awhile now.

I own Dragon Age Origins for both the PC and for the Xbox 360. On the PC version, the achievements are unlocked immediately, and are 100% accurate. You get your "kill 500 darkspawn" achievement the second that the 500th darkspawn eats dirt.

However, in the Xbox 360 version, this is not so. I'm currently at 2000+ darkspawn killed, and still don't have the 500 or 1000 achievement. I've explored 100% of the world in Origins (my "Explored" even says 100%") yet I still do not receive the achievement. I do the Oompaloompa with Leliana, and the game still considers me being a virgin.

Does anybody know why the Xbox 360 version seems to be so buggy with these achievements? Is there a way to fix this? Or should I just save and retry until it bloody works.

" My bet is a new console from MS by holiday 2012, announced at E3 2012. Sony after that. My hope is a HDD for storage (1 TB or so) with a decent sized SSD (about 64 GB -- or enough to hold the same capacity as an entire dual-layer blu-ray disc plus the OS) for cache and entire game swapping; with games coming on multiple DVDs that require installation. You'd install the game on the HDD and when you launched it, it would copy to the SSD in the background, solving a lot of the access speed issues associated with discs and HDDs after the initial load. And 4 gigs of unified memory. "
About the disc reading topic - is that what the 360 does? When you install games and play them like that it sounds like it doesn't even use the disc at all other than to verify that it's the game being played. "
In a sense it is what it does. The Xbox checks to make sure that the disc inserted is the disc required for the game, and if it is, then it plays. That way, people can't install and sell the game. There is a way to currently circumvent that, but obviously, it requires you to hack your console.

Although the DLC has been out for some time now, I didn't see a thread on this, and I figured I'd post it to inform those who didn't know yet.

If you have beat Hardcore mode and thus received the "Hand Cannon", it can be used on Severed. Obviously, it's as overpowered as ever, being able to 1shot an elite brute, but it's fun for breezing through and feeling like Weller the God of Necromorph Dismemberment/Destruction.

There also seems to be a graphical bug when Weller uses it, where he shoots at his foot instead of where he's aiming when he fires the secondary "PEW PEW" feature, but it still aims properly. I made sure to contact Visceral/EA about that.

" Yeah, Sony's taken this too far. Anyone who supports their behavior is retarded.. seriously.   "
Well would you like it, someone made a thing could collapse your business? "
But this can't collapse their business.
First off, let's look at Microsoft and Nintendo. Both the Xbox and the Wii have been hackable for years now, the Wii hackable the day it came out, and the Xbox within about two years. Has Nintendo "collapsed"? What about Microsoft?
Second, since this is a Geohot case we're talking about, Mr. Hotz never did anything to actually harm PlayStation. He simply found the root code and released it to the public. This is the same as finding how to make nuclear energy and releasing it to the public. Can somebody ELSE take it and turn it into something bad? Of course (see: nuclear weapons). But Mr. Hotz didn't, and you can't attempt to blame by that sort of association, at least not in the United States. It simply won't fly.

I don't pirate games. I don't have a hacked system. But I do support people who wish to hack their own consoles. It's theirs, after all. If they were renting it from Blockbuster (I did that when I was young with the N64...can you even do it anymore now? heh), then obviously, it would be a problem. But their console is theirs to do with as they like.

" Hello:)  I always wonderd why guys seems to be so hostile to us female gamers. May it be fps, fighting and even dual of the planeswalkers. My secondary profil is my full name with only 1 letter as last name, and while playing this(as i mostly do) i find ppl just beeing jerkd. Ofc you can sort the "young ppl" and so on. but in general.   i main viper in SSf(who knew^^) and after i'v been defeated, i normaly get pm's like: Get back in the kitchen or read the manual first. My normaly reply is: Im just training and trying to figur out this character. we cant all be easymode shotos, now can we? " and i never hear from them again.  So! thats why im asking. I never hear from ppl again, but i still get my inbox full of just jerks who wanna be funny or be....retarded(no offence)  So..... can any male gamer here answear why, and can any female members share or tell how the hell you get out of it? "
I'm sure this has been said many times since this is now 5 pages, but...

I don't mind female gamers. Many of my friends IRL are female gamers. What people mind are "Grrrl Gamers" That is, girls who try to act special or try to gain attention because they are girls.

However, if you AREN'T acting like that, and people are being rude anyway, it's just because it's the internet. Anonymity gives people the strength to do things that they would normally never do, and unfortunately, many take that strength to mean "be an asshole with no repercussions."

I would shave Condemned 3 into my back hair and dance naked on YouTube if they released a good Condemned 3.

" @Zaft To my knowledge there isn't anything special in it, just the dlc code. Aside from that it isn't really a proper collectors edition, no map, figures, artbook ,etc. "
True, but it's still the point of not being able to get it that sucks.

That and Bioware's whole attitude towards the whole thing. Some people on /v/ have pictures of their mods talking about it, and it's an understatement to say that they don't give a shit about our feelings of the situation.

I'm pretty pissed myself.

I have purchased the Special Edition or Collector's Edition of every game for the past...6 or 7 years. I like the extra little things that come with it. This will be the first time that I'm not able to get it, and it won't be because of lack of money, or because of my Gamestop ran out.

It'll be because of their retarded marketing strategy.

Phantasy Star Universe.

Not exactly a "sequel" to Phantasy Star Online, but good God, it took everything that was good with PSO and threw it right out the window.
You enjoyed that deep and dark storyline? LOL HERES A KAWAII DESU ANIMU STORYLINE UGUUU
You enjoyed that techno music that seemlessly transitioned throughout the level? LOL HERES SOME JPOP AND CRAPPY ORCHESTRA MUSIC THAT REPEATS OVER AND OVER AND OV...
You enjoyed the difficult combat against legions of evil, deformed creatures who could kill you in 2 to 3 hits? LOL HERE HAVE SOME KAWAII RESKINNED MONSTERS THAT YOU SEE IN EVERY FKING AREA AND THAT DIE BY JUST ATTEMPTING TO BREATHE
You enjoyed the huge, maze-like areas that randomized each time you came to the dungeon? LOL HERES A TINY, LINEAR ZONE THAT NEVER, EVER CHANGES

Et cetera, et cetera.

I swear to God, if Sonic Team does not do Phantasy Star Online 2 correctly, I'm going to firebomb their office.

Indeed. I -STILL- have not been able to register my game on their network, even with the aid of multiple people. It's bloody terrible.

In other news, SpaceGandhi's photo makes me go "A WHOLE NEW WOOOOOOOOOOORLD" every time I see it. It's bloody terrible.
