Any idea what track on the soundtrack is the one played right at the end of this video?  http://community.redfaction.com/content/dlc-pack-3-dev-diary-part-1

Not yet, but I'm really disappointed about the German localization. The so-called German version still comes with English text if your Xbox360 is set to English, but the intro-text is in German as are all the audio samples. With the German edition of Mass Effect at least everything was in German. And whoever had the idea of translating ODST into OAST ...

Since more and more iPhone/iPod touch games are added to the database it would make IMO sense to also add the game rating system used their to the release-system :-)

  • zerok replied to the topic Region selection
@The_A_Drain: The problem is what to do with other regions like all of Russia, all of Asia outside of Japan and all of Middle and South America? Going for "regions" instead of "countries" makes including these territories rather complicated.

Yesterday, Shadow Complex for Xbox360 was released and I was really looking forward to spending a couple of days exploring every single room on the map. I just love games were you can explore a lot and benefit from it immensely. And yesterday, that whole concept worked really well. Tonight at 2100 o'clock I had about 70% of the map explored and 50% of the items. Some major add-ons were still missing, though.

So while moving to find the next add-on for my armor ... I stumbled into a story event, triggered some events and more or less ... closed all doors to that item. I though: "Well, perhaps I can get back to it from another route" and moved on. The next thing, I stumbled AGAIN onto a story event since it was on the way to getting another add-on ... and it was the final battle.

So now, I find myself in the situation where I've finished the game (on easy), without 50% of the armor enhancements that are actually part of the story and that open up tons of new rooms. And to some of them I seem to be unable to get back to without resetting the whole game. Just great :-(

Don't get me wrong, though: The game is great and well worth the 1200 spacebucks, but stuff like that just annoys the hell out of me. First of all: You shouldn't be able to finish the game without finding all integral parts of your body armor and second, you shouldn't be able to lock yourself out of certain areas where there are still hidden items.

PSP Go's lack of a normal Mini-USB-port. This is such a shame :-(

Otherwise this E3 was really great :D

Apart from Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, which I've got a few days ago, I guess I'm most looking forward to Killzone 2 or SF4. I just hope I can find the time to at least play one of them with my master exam coming up in mid-March :-/

I still have enough "old" games to play before really deciding what I want to get in 2009. I've still MGS4, LBP and Prince of Persia only half-finished lying around, so I'm not really in a hurry :-)

On the other hand I'm really looking forward to the new addon for Burnout: Paradise which I will use as an excluse for getting the game also for the PS3 (having bought it for the Xbox360 right when it was released early last year). But apart from that, I guess, all I'm looking to for now is Uncharted 2 :-)

Last Thursday I got my copy of Prince of Persia for the PS3 and so far I'm really enjoying it. They story isn't bad at all, I love the characters and the whole jump'n run action is just pure entertainment. But: This is definitely the buggiest "big" game I've played in a very long time. Even the first 30 minutes had one really big issue that someone has to have noticed during QA ...

Just a small list of all the bugs I've seen so far:

  • Right when leaving the temple for the first time a sequence should be triggered when getting close to the exit again. Well, not for me at first. I basically jumped out of the level and died. After a couple of tries I went back to the start of the whole jump'n run part of that level and did it again. This time the event got triggered.

  • The subtitle doesn't always match what is being said on the voice-track.
For example in the German translation sometimes the Prince says "Wartet" while the subtitle says "Festhalten".

  • When doing those winch-puzzles where the Prince and Elika have to push them together, and esp. in the windmill-level, Elika often just beams to you instead of walking to the winch.

  • During the same puzzles on one occasion Elika just stood at the winch and didn't want to push anymore, although the switch wasn't yet in the right position.

  • In the Royal Gardens I also had the controls completely dying on me once when moving along those plants growing on the walls at the outer part of that stage. Just repeatedly hitting R2 (for sliding down) unstuck him again.

  • There are also a couple of AI/collision-detection problems with Elika where you hang down a cliff and she just can't decide if she should follow your lead or still wait up there. I noticed that particular problem once when she got completely stuck in mid-animation.

Don't get me wrong, though. I really enjoy this game and esp. the Prince with his tongue-in-cheek humor. And none of these issues (except for the very first one) really disturbed the gameplay-experience. I just have to wonder, how most of these could have slipped through QA. Events getting reliably triggered would for me be pretty high on the list of things to test.

Crackdown + Story + more awesomeness (PS3)
When I first saw some longer gameplay footage of inFamous for the PS3 I thought: "Crackdown + shooting electricity from your hands? I'm in". But inFamous is more than just a simple iteration or only a slight improvement over the two-year-old Xbox360 game. And with its successor still far away, ...
