Maybe this game is fun if you're playing it, but I don't understand the hype for it.
I completely understand the hype, I was hyped. After playing the beta my interest dropped though. I don't think this game is for me. I didn't really have fun playing it.
I wrote a review for this. To sum up, it's definitely not worth your money if you aren't deep into Destiny. If you are though, it has some of the best Raid experiences to date. In short, if you are the type of person that didn't purchase this immediately, you probably don't want this.
While I appreciate Jeff's review, I know his tastes on the recent Call of Dutys (i.e., mobility, unlocks, etc.) are much different than mine, so I will definitely still check this out.
I do not play Call of Duty, any of them, but what I understand from reading about it is that Jeff has the inverse opinion of the masses. I've only heard bad things about Advanced Warfare and only good things about Black Ops III (was it that one?) and this one's multiplayer.
@trivitaal: You can't make a joke about anything if that's how you look at this. I'm under the assumption that this subject is close to you in a negative way, and while that sucks, other subjects are negatively close to other people and people joke about those as well.
For some people joking even helps. Taking everything seriously all the time is not necessarily better.
Bungie somehow makes fps games that never feel as good as other better fps games . It doesn't look like they made the shooting any better and the shooting in destiny felt pretty bad. No weight to the weapons or impact or sense of power
To each there own. There is a whole legion of people claiming it is the best shooting has ever felt. And I agree with that.
I ended up really not liking the first Destiny, and it soured me on Bungie, after absolutely loving them for their work on Halo. But watching this... I'm totally going to play Destiny 2. Damn you, Bungie, you better not fool me again!
As someone who is following D2 meticulously, Destiny 2 is more of Destiny. If you didn't like Destiny, I'm not sure how you would like this game.
@squidracerx: For someone like me, the Switch is the first appealing Nintendo console since the Nintendo 64. I did buy a GameCube, but was mostly disappointed with it, par from Metroid Prime and Sunshine.
Nintendo usually has games that look somewhat interesting, but not since the N64 have they had games I legitimately really want to play. Breath of the Wild, Odyssey, Mario+Rabbits and that new Pokemon are games I really want to play.
Before, Nintendo never really passed a 2-game threshold for me to warrant buying their console.
I find it super interesting that Wildlands and For Honor, two Ubisoft games I barely hear anyone talking about, are the two best selling games of the year so far.
People talk about them a lot. Giant Bomb's reception and talk of things aren't always representative of the larger community. For the games I play, they are actually mostly the opposite usually.
