My Date With The President's Daughter or H.E.Double Hockey Sticks. Really, anything with Will Friedle. He was great in any Disney movie or show he was in during that time.

I'm not a body-language expert but I have, unfortunately, been around people who try to manipulate others for a good amount of my life. Filip's review came off, to me, as someone who completely put on a facade for the camera. Not a single word of that sounded genuine. If I'm wrong, I'm more than happy to admit to it. But even right out of the gate, the long heavy sigh about the entire situation; the 'none-apology-apology' attitude; the 'indignant-but-still-smug' tone. All of it. The entire video felt like I walked in a child sticking their hand in a cookie jar and then having to listen to them -- WITH THEIR HAND STILL IN THE COOKIE JAR -- try to explain how they totally didn't just try to take a cookie from it, only to escalate it further by bursting into tears in an attempt to make me make me feel guilty about the entire thing and walk away feeling like *I* was somehow in the wrong.

That's not a good look, man. I'd seriously implore Filip to change his style going forward. Unfortunately, people with that type of mindset will probably never change.

Good luck in your future endeavors, Mr. Miucin.

As someone who has gone back to the original KOTOR once every year or so, I like to think it holds up relatively well. I am also going to lobby a guess that some of that has to do with my nostalgia getting in the way.

The more I play it, the more I realize its minor flaws -- and it's a still wonderful game even many years later -- with things like the inventory in that game where everything just feels like it's there with no way to sort through it; the wonky-ness of certain fights where I have to stop in the middle to make sure the attack I just chose for a specific character is actually queued up correctly; and, on PC, some weird save issues I've had where the game would just outright crash at certain points for whatever reason? Aside from that last one, which is almost certainly user error when installing (I fixed it by reinstalling), I think the game is wonderful. The writing still solicits emotions and reactions from me every time I play it. I have a special fondness in my heart for the KOTOR series as someone who wasn't into RPG's when I was younger. I bought it on a whim when I was younger because I liked the Star Wars universe. It remains one of my favorite games of all-time to this day because of that decision.

I know it's not *technically* a new album (and I already saw it mentioned) but that remastered version of Twin Fantasy by Car Seat Headrest is undoubtedly my favorite album of 2018 so far. That's more of a personal thing as I've had some very shitty stuff happen in my personal life within the past 6 months. Because of that, I've forged an extra attachment to this album because it sort of speaks to the emotions I was feeling over the past couple of months. I keep listening to it almost daily. High To Deathis my personal favorite song because it feels extremely personal to me, but others may enjoy Bodysor other songs off of that album far more. I can't say enough good things about this album from top to bottom. I know it's almost hard to sell people on listening to a fullalbum in 2018 but ... man... I love this album A TON.

Other 2018 albums I've really liked:

Con Todo El Mundo by Khruangbin

  • It's a nice mood-setting album, for me, if that makes any sense? I've thrown it on a couple times while I play some games here and there. It's not something that demands your full attention, and sometimes I want that.

Cocoa Sugar by Young Fathers

  • It's a rap/hip hop trio from Scotland, I think? Cocoa Sugar has a great sound to it that's just different enough to draw you in and keep you there out of curiosity.

Elevators: Act I & II by Bishop Nehru

  • I was INCREDIBLY curious about this rap album because Nehru is only 21 years old and he's already getting guys like MF DOOM and KAYTRANADA to work with him. It's a fine album that loses some steam midway through; still good, imo.

Freedom's Goblin by Ty Segall

  • So, if you don't know anything about this dude, he puts out some form of music almost every month it seems like; it's insane how good and prolific he consistently is. Freedom's Goblin is a far more refined sound, and it's my favorite Segall album thus far. Hearing him evolve his sound over the past 12-18 months has been wonderful.

Currently listening to The Other by King Tuff as I write this and I'm loving that as well, but I don't have any thoughts since I'm only midway through the album. It's very good, though!

For me, in no particular order (unless otherwise noted):

  • Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star/Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines by Shabazz Palaces
  • This Old Dog by Mac Demarco
  • Slowdive by Slowdive
  • american dream by LCD Soundsystem
  • Ctrl by SZA
  • Out in the Storm by Waxahatchee (favorite of the year)
  • The Far Field by Future Islands
  • Drunk by Thundercat

They're certainly not for every body, but I absolutely dig Shabazz Palaces' new double EP that just came out. They posted both of them in full on the Sub Pop Youtube page. It's a spacey, poetic, hip-hop/rap album.

And if you're into Tyler, The Creator, (I understand if you aren't) his new album is his best work to date, in my honest opinion. I've been listening to Boredom a lot recently. The work feels more mature than his previous albums.

Vince Staples newest albumis being heralded as his best work yet. Despite the fact that I wasn't as in love with it as much as other people, it's still worth listening to if you're a fan of his. Big Fish still gets played pretty regularly by me.

Waxhatachee's new album is solid, as mentioned in a previous reply above. I'm partial to 'Recite Remorse' myself but that album as a whole is pretty great!

As far as tracks go:

And to top it off, I highly recommend you listen to the Pyre OST because it's very good.

As someone who spent his teens playing simulation racing games with other people and recently re-invested in a high-end racing wheel, I had a love/hate relationship with DIRT Rally. That game was so difficult, exhilarating, frustrating, rewarding, upsetting, and gratifying all at the same time -- it was an incredibly torrid love affair to say the least.

I recently replayed some of DIRT 3 after it was being offered free for download. I have no problem with the arcade-y feel of that game. Where it lost me, personally, was all of the gymkhana events that involved any type of drifting. I love all forms of motorsports (F1, IRL, NASCAR, Rally, MotoGP, etc...), but drifting is one of the few I just cannot get in to. Needless to say, that did nothing for me, and, at times, almost made me want to quit playing all together because I never fully grasped the drifting gameplay mechanic.

As far as DIRT 4 goes, I'll most likely end up buying this on day 1 because I enjoy all of the DIRT games in some way. So far, the preliminary reviews have made me excited to get this game!

Love Jason! Fortunately, I haven't seen anybody saying anything bad about him (aside from one guy on Twitter).

Doing audio/video production is really fucking difficult. Subtract a guy (Drew) who has incredible knowledge and work ethic, add new equipment (new cameras and streaming equipment), and throw in the fact that Jason is also asked to sit in on QL's, UPF's, podcasts and other live content while trying to be a personality, and you can understand the amount of pressure he's under. Sometimes, shit just breaks. Nothing you can do about it! You can check, double-check, and triple-check something only to have it malfunction for whatever reason even though it worked just fine yesterday.

Consider the amount of times something hasn't worked because of him. I don't recall a time where we missed out a planned livestream because of Jason. He knows his shit. He's the captain of Giantbomb's production and our hearts.

Keep up your great work, Jason. Hopefully CBSi will get someone to help you with the ever-evolving nightmare that is live streaming production. No one man should have to constantly worry about all of that on a day-to-day basis!

@liquidsaiyan3: I have the sister pair -- the Sony MDR-V6's -- that I use for pretty much everything from gaming, to listening to music, to editing various media on my PC. I wear them for hours on end without any problems; they fold up quite nicely; the sound quality is balanced. They're great for pretty much everything!

As someone who likes headphones a little too much (not audiophile level, though), part of me wonders if I missed out not getting the 7506's instead. However, most of the reviews I've read of the two seems to state that they're both great regardless.
