@forteexe21: I can't really figure out why NO ONE seems to remember Into the Nexus. It was a real good ratchet game.
Probably because it was 2013 so everyone was obsessed with The Last of Us and GTA V, it was budget priced, and came out right before new consoles launched. Which is a damn shame, its my personal 3rd favorite in the series, right after UYA and CiT.
I'm probably getting cynical with age. If making the game they want to make takes until 2017, why did they say 2016 before?
Because projections change pretty often. They assumed they could target a fall 2016 release, as they've been working, they either realized its going to take a few more months or Microsoft gave them a chance to work on the game longer and not contend with a relatively packed 2016 holiday lineup.
Curious if Graham has tried the Zero Escape games if he enjoys real life ones so much. I recently discovered my town has a Room Escape place with 3 different scenarios, I have to try to arrange my friends into doing at least one of them.
Its really hard to find this to be a compelling Star Wars game when the only leg it seems to have is graphics. I can get over a dozen pretty incredible and authentic looking and sounding Star Wars games on just about every platform. Hell, you can still play Battlefront 2 on PC with people right now.
I was hoping the dogfighting stuff would have played a bigger roll in this, but I'm pretty sure I can just throw Rogue Leader into my Wii and get what I'm looking for.
Good review, Jeff's reviews always balance objective and subjective views in a really well thought out way. Also, fucking great to see Bethesda jank getting called what it is. Great as Brad is, him piping up to defend the glitches in the Quick Look made me roll my eyes a bit, so Jeff calling it out is great. When you've been shipping games in the same fairly busted-ass state for the past 10 years, its not really endearing anymore.
I'm really not, sadly. I know the strength of the game should be in the story and the RPG elements, but I can't help it it looks , visually, bad. Washed out, clunky, not polished. I will wait for a quick look before spending money on this one. I hope I'm wrong though.
I hate to break it to you, but this is a Bethesda game. They haven't been great at that for a LONG time. They haven't been too hot at the RPG elements lately either.
As someone who actively dislikes Yoshi's Island, and every subsequent Yoshi focused platformer, this actually seems pretty great. My biggest gripe about how the collectables are handled seems to be absent here, since its more or less a sequel to Epic Yarn. Also a distinct lack of crying babies, thats good too.
@zippedbinders: Oh damn I didn't realize there was a demo, is that up now?
Its "free to start" which basically means the opening chapters are a free demo you can download, and then buy the rest of the game. Its not really a separate thing.
Pretty hyped for this game, its a perfect fit for the gamepad and I could use a nice horror game right about now. Good on them for doing a demo/free version of it too.
