But what does that entail, exactly? It's a nice sentiment but I can't think of any way that can be done.

The sad part is that as GB becomes more popular these sort of things will become more common, not less. Unless there's a change in how posting/commenting privileges are earned then the only option is to moderate once the offense has been committed.

@wsgexe: Giant Bomb is not going to become another Kotaku, they just wan't to be a less hostile place. There's a lot of space between "Giant Bomb" and "Kotaku" and in there is a place where women/minorities aren't bombarded with insulting comments.

@rorie: Sorry, just jumped in and it looked like the conversation was focused around mean things said during the E3 live streams.

@rorie: Is E3 chat a good representation of this site's community? I assume there are quite a number of visitors to /chat during those streams who aren't regular users.

1 and 2 are not good ideas. They'll harm the site much more than help it.
