Proteus review
Proteus transcends the videogame genres in an epic style, its subdued laid back undertones wont be appreciated by 99 percent of the general public, but that lucky 1 percent like me, will appreciate the games many allegories, and its stark use of confronting imagery. You play as a shipwreck survivor whom finds themselves washed upon a literal shore of various beasts and plant life. The game also has the occasional man made obelisk or structure to spice up the landscape, but there is so much visual data on display, they are almost a sensory overload, the kind that.we, the true gamer welcomes like a warm handshake. The island is a character unto itself, its beasts are a joy to interact with, and a kinship with the animal life, in all its varied forms is quickly established between the game and the true gamer. Your job in the game is to survive the day, experience the islands many wonders, find the glittering fing at the end and walk into it. It may sound simplistic but its an epic journey, the glittering thing is more difficult to find than it seems, and enduring the islands many wiles is an effort undertaken by only the most dedicated of gamers. As you complete your job, youll have to do it three more times, and then the credits await, oh the credits, i dont want to spoil them, but ill just say, they credit those responsible for this groundbreaking artwork in a manner truly befitting their hard work. I would also like to credit their fine works with this five star view, the game belongs in the pantheon of gaming, right along games of similar calibur.
