Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party Review

The Raving Rabbids series' latest entry is out and if you were expecting about the same with the addition of some games that allow you to use the Wii Board, you'd be right. In this version you have the single player mode, Party mode, training mode, and last World Contest.

The graphics are exactly what you have grown to expect from the series. You are going to see a bunch of fat bunny looking creatures running around. You'll get to see some of them in different costumes, and as you play the single player mode you'll get to diversify your rabbid for other modes.

The controls sadly don't always respond the way you would like them to, and when you add the Wii Board to the equation you'll find a bit of frustration. I've experienced even more issues when it comes to playing on a HD TV as most of the games require timing with button presses and movements.

The gameplay I have to say is a step up from the first one because there is a more diverse selection, but a step down for the second one because some of the games try too hard. You will be playing different games based loosely around TV shows. You're going to find that some 'channels' are greatly overplayed and others you'll find are quite neglected. The thing that really hurts the overall performance of this game is the fact that some of the games, while playing party mode, will not end until everyone actually finishes. For the sake of your Wii-motes and nunchucks and sometimes the Wii Board I'd recommend against this game. I wish this game lived up to its expectations but it falls short. I give this game a 6.6 out of 10.

Story : I guess, it consists of a bunch of neurotic rabbits discovering the joy of television and living vicariously through their favorite brain-rotting programs. Most of the parodies are really clever, and everything from the channel logo-flourishes to the Happy Tree Friends-esque cutscenes involving the Rabbids breaking out of jail or whatnot provide plenty of beer-belly laughs. As for Rayman, if the once i...
