In Resident Evil games, do you prefer the old-school fixed camera angle or over the shoulder perspective?

     This?
     This?

     or this?

My favorite, as classic as it is, is the fixed camera angles. Something about it that makes the game more intense and scary. I still can't understand why people criticize it to be confusing and hard to follow the character. That thought never crossed my mind.

Over the shoulder. If you can not tell I love RE4 a lot.

I get your points about the fixed camera,
but I'll go with over the shoulder.

The tank controls make them both suck.

But to answer your question, over the shoulder with a little fixed camera mixed in for the interesting perspectives and scenery.

This. Admittedly, I can justify them for the early games but after a while, I'd have expected them to find a way to induce fear that wasn't totally based having your character move like a panzer.

I've heard those positions that argue the over-the-shoulder perspective disintegrates the "creeping terror" aspect of the survival-horror genre.

Let me tell you that I give not a single fuck about that. I'd rather have a game that plays well than a game that has to rely on making me feel like a goddamned paraplegic to generate scares.
