All militaries have some kind of uniform.
A small, closed-off area in a game containing enemies that opens at some trigger point. Often used to surprise the player, or as an alternative to spawning enemies out of thin air.
When monsters in a game can turn on each other after an accidental injury and fight to the death instead of focusing on the player, or when some of the player's enemies also hate each other, and will attack each other on sight.
Murder is the act of ending the life of another living thing against its will without the sanction of a higher governmental authority, such as the casualties that result from acts of war. It is generally intentional, at least in a legal meaning, but not necessarily.
Members of the German National Socialist Party, which controlled Germany from January 1933 unto the end of World War II in May 1945. Nazis and characters inspired by them are often used as villains in video games.
A common concept used in World War II games, where the limited knowledge of everything the Nazis did helps create an alternative history.
Occurs when a player kills an enemy using a sniper rifle without the aid of the scope. Generally in FPS games, sniper rifles are not equipped with crosshairs, thus making this feat impressive.
A circumstance in video games where the player will defeat large numbers of enemies without any assistance from AI or other players. This may occur for part of a game or the entirety of it.
Overheating in video games involves guns and vehicles experiencing an increase in temperature leading to reduced efficiency or accuracy, damage or even destruction.

Who needs 2D when we've got 3D? 3D, or 3 dimensions, is what we're used to seeing in almost every game these days, letting us do all sorts of awesome stuff like run in circles!
From shields to car doors to entire vehicles, and even people, portable cover puts a unique twist on the cover systems commonly found in modern action games.
A master of ceremonies who performs religious duties. A common character class in RPGs.
The "kick back" from a gun. Causes the muzzle of your gun and crosshair to rise when fired. It promotes firing in smaller bursts, and forces the player to push the crosshair down to counter act the force of the recoil.
Reloading is the action of replacing the ammunition magazine inside a gun. It adds a touch of realism to most modern shooters, and a certain amount of tension when a player is forced to reload while under fire.
Set of actions, that are part of a religion or traditions.
A term used to describe the flow of action in a typical action game, where the pace is pre-defined to feature fast action and require quick reflexes. As the name suggests, these are games where the player character can run and shoot at the same time.
What do you mean? Everyone knows you run faster with a knife!
Sometimes, things are just meant to happen the way they do. Usually triggered by a timer, or by the player crossing a checkpoint.
A Secret area is a place hidden that few will find unless they know where to look.
A sequel (also called a follow-up) is a game that carries forward the gameplay concepts, and often the story, of a previous game to which it is officially linked.
The phenomenon of an enemy who is heavily resistant to damage (or even invulnerable) everywhere on its body - except for its back.
Eliminating a target with a long-range rifle.
Crunchy frozen water fallen from the sky. Many games feature a snow world, a snow level, or otherwise-connected regions of wintery landscapes.
Splash damage is a term used in several types of games, most notably in first-person shooter and real-time strategy games, to refer to damage taken by players or objects in the area surrounding a point of weapon impact.
This bar keeps track of your Stamina. If it's depleted, you need to take a rest.
Using stealth often requires the player to accomplish their objective without being detected by enemies. Methods of detection can vary from game to game, and can be based on an enemy's line of sight, how quiet the player is, or even how the player interacts with the environment.
Stealth kills are special kills in video games that usually occur when the AI is not aware of the threat of the player.
Propelling oneself with kinetic usage of limbs while submerged in liquid (or otherwise fluid material).
