This seems like a good idea, because a stand alone expansion seemed dumb as hell. We can probably delete this game now.

After turning their infamy into worldwide fame, the Third Street Saints now find themselves at war with a powerful criminal organization called The Syndicate. Strap it on.
This game is no more. The content is now in SR4.
I'll play the role of the knee jerk.
Ahem.
JASON RUBIN HATES SAINTS ROW AND SO HE'S TRYING TO GET RID OF ALL SAINTS ROW PRODUCTS AND ALSO HE'S GONNA MAKE DARKSIDERS 3 INTO A POST-APOCALYPTIC FANTASY SIMULATION RACING GAME AND ALSO WHITE ZOMBIE GRAAAAAGH!
So SR4 is a galactic crime sandbox?
I have a bad feeling about Saints Row 4, but I have faith that even if Rubin pushes Volition to tone down some of the racier elements of SR, they'll still produce an amazing game. Just maybe not a game where you play through a whole mission drugged and naked.

Very good...
I posted a delete request this morning. http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/delete-combine-requests/34/delete-saints-row-the-third-enter-the-dominatrix/551373/#2
Seemed a better way to break the news, since this forum shouldn't exist.
"...When it comes to Saints Row, it's clear our fans want bigger, better, and even more over the top, and that's why Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, full-fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013."
Well at least Rubin is saying the right things to appease fans for now. We'll see what it looks like when SR4 drops in 2013 or '14. I'm not opposed to THQ folding it into the next sequel. I just want Saints Row to continue to differentiate itself from Grand Theft Auto by being as bat-shit crazy and comically offensive as possible.
On one hand I'm sad cause I wanted to go back and play more content but if it's getting added to the next Saints Row then sign me up.
Don't know how to feel about that. Guess we should wait for real material before condemning/absolving it
Stand alone expansions are rarely handled well. Guild Wars and Company of Heroes are really the only two I can think of that did it well and those are both PC games.
Great! It's clear Jason Rubin is behind them going insane, and he wants to support their vision. I hope he can also steer them in a more solid, even direction for the sequel. I'm stated it before, that while I appreciate the insanity of Saints Row: The Third, that game is wildly uneven and awfully paced.

This could either turn out really good...or really bad.
Like Saints Row 3, apparently?
Gonna be fun to see what the next full Saints Row game is gonna be like now.
Don't much care for their "expansions" so this is good news.
The whole "pay for this :D" and then you get 8-10 minutes of content was kinda strange
I'll still have to see some SR4 stuff if I'm to ever be excited about the series again. SRTT burned me out after a while because of how overall inferior I found it to SR2, and then of course there's the DLC fiasco. I went from being an absolute Saints Row obsessive during SR2 to then slowly becoming more and more disinterested after I got deep into SRTT, and that depresses me.

May I say this sucks?
Why? to me this sounds only like it will be made better by including the content into a new game that benefits from the stuff they learned from SR3.
The only sucky thing about it is that we don't get new Saints madness this year :)
That's exactly why it sucks. :(
Rubin never said that they should tone down the content in that interview... He was just acknowledging something that Brian Crecente the interviewer said about getting embarassed if he got caught. People keep taking that interview out of context. If Rubin was so concerned about the game being too silly and hypersexualized he would have just outright scrapped this expansion altogether as well as the sequel. Back to the topic, money wise i think its a wise decision. This would save them resources in releasing and marketing this expansion and instead refocus on making an actual sequel and also save them time in making another mission. All around its better that its getting folded into another SR game and not scrapped all together.
