You fight the damn controls more then you do the colossi. I'm on the boar boss and this game has 3 times now made me want to throw my controller through a window and turn the disk into a Frisbee.

God i hate this game
I agree with the OP .................................. about the fact that he hates this game. It seems like he really does.
Im surprised no one has posted the meme pic of Brad saying "Let the record show, I did not let go of the hold button"
Well I will be the first to not shit on your post. The controls in that game can be very difficult, so I don't blame you 100%. It took me much longer then it should on that Collasi where you have to jump from your horse off a hill onto it's back. Staying on it never much trouble though if you pay attention to your stamina meter and know exactly where you want to get too.
the boar is like boss 10 or 11, the one who is scared of the fire. i would get hit by him and then take a full 12 seconds to get back up to just be hit by him again as we was standing over me. also the horse controls like shit, i run into walls every 3 min on the damn thing. Everything this game is trying to do with scope and monster size god of war did better with a less shit control scheme.

Play better? or stick to FPS.
I have nothing to add to this stupid thread, but I just thought I'd say @agarest great icon and love the user name ;P
@swat200: Shadow of the Colossus is one of my favorite games ever but I for one totally see where your coming from. Game was clunky as shit most of the time.
And yes that boss was a total stun-locking asshole.

Yo guys. He just compared Shadow of the Colossus to God of War. Let's get him.
You just gotta get used to it bro. Its an old game now, the controls are bound to be a little rusty.
Even though I love this game I admit that the controls can be hard to learn. Just persevere as much as you can and you'll get the hang of it. Also remember to keep watch of your grip meter. If it's too small look for fruits in the game world and they will increase the size of your meter. Lizards can also help to increase your health. If not just put the game down, no need to frustrate yourself for no reason.
By today's standard it's pretty frustrating game to control. I suppose you have first to fall in love of the setting, presentation and uniqueness of the game and only then resolve to play it, otherwise it can be painful. If you get angry at the game things can get even worse, you have to "surrender" in a way.
Btw I surprisingly found Ico a little less difficult to pay because it relied less on prioritizing the procedural animation over the player input.
There are some great bosses in SotC, but the two smaller ones are definetly the worst of the bunch. I stopped my second playthrough at that boss for a reason.
I love Shadow of the Colossus, in fact it's one of my all-time favorite games, but yeah—that specific Colossus is kinda dumb. I kinda wish the two smaller bull-like Colossi weren't in the game. They were mostly not fun.
