@mutha3: Yeah, that was crazy, I was thinking of commenting about that as well. The way Ryan especially downplayed it was a really shitty and stupid thing to do, it absolutely doesn't need to be that way and it's fucking awful, full stop. Just because you're afraid to call out someone on something doesn't mean you need to act like it's totally appropriate behavior to just suck your employees dry and then act so flippant about it.   Jeff and Ryan both should have a way better attitude than that, and I was actually really happy that Patrick was so intent on pressing them over it. God knows I haven't been the biggest Patrick fan, but if one of the side effects of his youth in comparison to the others is a more determined way of arguing over what is right or wrong, and throwing that against the jaded "in the industry that's just the way it is" attitude of both of them, then I'm all for him making regular appearances discussing controversial issues of the day.  Though it would help if his sound quality every single time he's on the bombcast didn't sound like it was coming out of a telephone.

The overall reaction of the TF2 community to the F2P players is: Yeah, easy kills! :)

I've never been bothered by anything heard on the Bombcast enough to get worked up about it, but Ryan's apathetic attitude towards employee treatment at Team Bondi really struck a nerve with me.

Not a single one of those alleged claims in the IGN article should be considered acceptable by any standard and, if anything, it just highlights how immature and poorly managed the video game industry is.

The days of games being made by small teams of eager college graduates are (mostly) over. Today, AAA games are made by grown-ass people with families and lives, and they too deserve a healthy work environment. The attitude that they should be 'grateful' and that it's a 'labor of love' sickens me. They're making fucking games, not saving the world.

I'm glad this story is getting a lot of attention (and being officially investigated) - it damn well should. Rockstar particularly seems to be one of the worst offenders and I have a feeling the GTAV devs aren't being treated much better either. The shittiest thing is that Rockstar knows every dev in the world wants a Rockstar credit to put in their CV/portfolio, which opens the door wide to exploitation.

Nonchalantly shrugging just because you're very fond of the finished product is not something I'd expect from someone who spends so much of their professional career around those exact same developers.

I agree. Patrick adds some levity to the proceedings, and when he's talking serious, he's usually telling you something worth knowing, or making you think. Sometimes his attempts at humor fall a little flat, but so do mine, so I can relate. And YES, they DEFINITELY need to do something about his mic. Every time, he sounds severely band-limited or something. Get him a proper mic, or get him specially EQed...

I remember the first time I had apple pie without cheese. I was like "people do that? Oh well..." I guess it depends entirely on what you grew up with.

When you guys mentioned Gundam D3 I was really prepared to get my ass pounded.  Thank you for going lightly on it.  I'm a big Gundam fan, own a lot of the models, the cartoon's okay, but the whole mech genre needs more popularity than it has.  Its a bit of a catch 20/20.  No one wants to invest creative money into the franchise but the franchise can't get popular enough if no one does invest creative money into it.  And really the best Gundam game ever made was the Zone of Enders series.   And for those who don't realize I'm joking, Zone of Enders is not a Gundam game.  Its just Kojima not wanting to pay for the Gundam license to make a Gundam game.  But in all fairness, most Gundam games are just in the realm of okay.  They may not be good, but they're not terrible.  

I would buy pharmaceuticals with the brand name Giant Bomb.

Who the fuck complained about the noise of the AC?! I would much prefer to listen to a slight hum in the background and have the guys actually be comfortable and therefore more entertaining.

I hear ya, man. I was actually playing DW: Gundam 3 as I was listening to them talk about the game, bracing myself for an incoming storm of insults. I know it's clearly a flawed game that gets rehashed every year or two, but damn do I love me some Gundam. I had a lot of fun with the first two games, and even played enough to S-rank both of them.

For what it's worth, I'm enjoying DW:G3 thus far. It's very much like the second game, with a few minor tweaks.

Klepek, I love you but being the "horror game aficionado," yet never having played the first two FEARs and only an hour of Amnesia? Come on maaaaaaaaaan... Have you at least played Condemned? Silent Hill?
