Alex Navarro as a guest? Does that mean there will be weird forced laughter? Will there be 90's sitcom style jokes nobody laughs at or aknowledges? Will he carry conversations where he constantly uses hyperboles that reference illnesses, bodily fluids, or self harm in order to get a point across about something he doesn't like? Will there be sophomoric displays of sarcasm and teenage-style pessimism? I guess there is only one way to find out!

Wait so Old Republic is an MMO, akin to the World of Warcraft, with voices and story? Thanks Jeff I would have never known without your wisdom, I thought it was a puzzle game.

I have no problem with anyone on this podcast and I look forward to listening to it.

If you wont leave, can you at least stop being a whiny bitch? It's funny how everyone around here that doesn't like Alex (luckily a minority) are probably people that aren't aware he worked with these guys in the past, and was THE original Bombcast guests.

I played a lot of the "The Old Republic" beta over the weekend and I can say I hated it up until I left the tutorial zone. It was super derivative and just reminded me of WoW.

But as soon as you get to the first Faction specific area they start introducing Flashpoints, advanced classes and story missions that actually matter. Fetch quests stop as soon as you leave the tutorial zone and you get a companion.

The companion is nice because they're the ones who handle crafting and you can send them off to gather materials or make items while you join up with some other people to gain some social points. So it makes crafting less monotonous, but it's nothing game changing. Also you can SPRINT INDEFINITELY. Yeah, that's pretty awesome. Once you hit lvl 14 you can sprint forever as long as you're not in battle.

It's pretty boring at first, gets interesting for a little bit and then the novelty wears off. I thought I was going to buy it during my 10-20's, but I started losing interest in it when it starting falling back into a rut.

I never got to own my own spaceship, and I don't know what that entails, but I don't think I'll be spending $60 for that.

Definitely not my favorite cast, but hey, why not. If there's anything to complain about it's them talking about shit they don't know about. But Ryan and Patrick do that all the time, so hey.

@HotSando: I don't mind Alex at all. I've been listening to this guy on podcasts for 6 years now. He is a part of the site and you telling them you don't like him is not going to change anything. They don't care about how you don't like Alex, they like him. Get over yourself, as you so rightly put it.

Hah, interesting to hear their opinions on the swimming/pirate section of Uncharted 3. On my first playthrough, that was absolutely my least favorite section. I'm guessing now this was because I did not stay in the water, which it sounds like is what Patrick approach was also. Upon finishing the game, I thought to myself that Uncharted 2 had at least a dozen combat sections that were so good I would remember them and often go back and play that one section, while Uncharted 3 had basically none.

Then, after my second (Crushing) playthrough, this swimming/pirate area became quite possibly the only section of the game that I think is exceptionally fun to just shoot dudes. It's by far my favorite combat arena in the game. Staying in the water, poking my head out and popping some dude in the head, then another before swimming away and weaving through the platforms, jumping up and snatching a dude into the water, then evading again... just so brilliant. So fun.

Naughty Dog should've introduced the shoot-while-swimming stuff earlier or something so the player knew about it. That area is so much fun once you know to stay off the boats.
