Weird, levels on this video are washed out compared to part 1 and 2, and it's 30fps instead of 60fps

This game is pretty great and everything, but really it's the mix of people and the conversations that really make this feature.

This feature has been great because of the idle chat that comes up. It's almost like a longer version of a podcast, sans the games.

Gotta love the developer throwing polite jabs at Brad. This kind of suffering is exactly why they made this game the way it is I would bet.

Aye for sure. I think putting Vinny and Rorie together produces an endless conversation loop, and it's fantastic.

Rorie seems like one of those guys that can't casually talk about something without mentioning how much it sucks. I'd really like a full catalogue charting everything Rorie has said he hates or is awful throughout the three parts of this series so far. I think in the end we'd have a number rivalling the Brad death counter.

I think it's not unreasonable to think there's a possibility of extraterrestrial life that evolved somewhere else in the universe, because we have proof of life evolving - it happened on Earth. The other option is that the planet Earth is unique in a universe with billions of galaxies, that each have billions of stars and planets.

Ghosts, however, are purported to exist on our Earth. The one we have lived on, and documented, since the beginning of written history. And yet there's no documented proof, no similar written records in different cultures (because why would ancient South American ghosts be different than Chinese ghosts, if we're all humans). Ghosts are a thing that would violate our known laws of physics, and are partly religious in nature, and scientific research has never been successful.

They are completely different, in every possible way.

EDIT: If it' wasn't obvious, of course I don't mean alien home invasions and secret alien governments - that's all completely crazy talk.

@dr_mantas:

I'm not saying it was aliens...but it was aliens!

You're completely right, and that was the point Brad made in regards to this in the video: With the (almost?) infinite amount of planets out there, there should be a good chance that what happened to us isn't unique. Supernatural beings like ghosts are of course a completely different thing.

In other words, we don't have proof of alien life, but we're living proof that life, under the right circumstances, can exist. Just saying "there's more between heaven and earth" or "we don't understand everything, so...GHOSTS?!" isn't the same as saying that alient life if possible, or even probable, somewhere in the universe.

Anyways, good video, Brad! This might be my favourite Breaking Brad series yet.

We know life exists, though. We're it. We also know the universe is bigger than any human brain can imagine, which means that even the most improbable events, like black holes or galaxies colliding, happen every day somewhere in the universe. We now know that most stars have planets orbiting them, we know of many planets in our neighborhood that orbit their suns at a good enough distance to allow liquid water to form. We know that the most common chemical elements on earth, including those that we're made of, are also the most common everywhere else in the universe.

etc...

Ghosts are way more of a leap of logic than aliens at this point.

Yeah, Brad's strategies against the snake boss were just soul-crushingly pitiful. "Hey, I'm just gonna stand in the middle, and just throw spears too low, because I'm an idiot. Oh look, I died! Clearly it must be impossible to hit this boss. Complain complain complain."

The greater problem is that the instant something goes wrong, he immediately loses morale and says "fuck this, fuck everything". NOT EVERYTHING IS SUPER MEAT BOY! You can keep going, Brad. It's not the end of the world.

Watching Brad playing Dark Souls would be the absolute worst, because he wouldn't take the setbacks in stride at all. And he seems like the type to just keep trying the same bad strategy over and over, unless he gets outside tips.

aliens = life, just somewhere else.

We have plenty proof of life, ghosts or life after death, not so much. or none at all

also good thing rorie gave him the peak of bone mountain advice.

@vinny Childhood's End is awesome! The description in the end while the world crumbles around him is pretty powerful. Considering when it was written, it has some really interesting things going on in it... even if it's kinda all over the place more than it needs to be.

@prokofjev said:

Most of the world believes in ghosts or gods or are "traditional" agnostic. Get used to it. I think I read a Gallop Poll saying less than a percent of the population didn't believe in any supernatural or godly thing (and even then they still might believe in "organic" everything or "GMOs are bad"), so your future spouse will probably believe in one of those unless you're ridiculously picky. If people's careers are not in the sciences it doesn't have much impact on anything and if you're boring enough that these things come up in every-day conversation then that's a problem with your own personality. I'm a scientific skeptic, but I think a rare example of one that knows they don't need to be an asshole to the overwhelming majority of the world because of it. Everyone is ignorant of something.

There's billions of galaxies, EACH containing billions of stars, and MANY of those stars have planets. There are billions upon billions upon billions upon billions of planets out there. If life could arise on Earth, I'm certain that, through the history of the universe, on all those billions of planets, life arose at least once more. I agree with Drew - I'm pretty sure Aliens are out there - sure, I can't KNOW if they are out there, and I'm not saying they are there 100%, but I'm 99% sure they are there. We know life is possible - we exist after all. The idea that there aren't earth like planets out there, when there are SO MANY planets, is implausible to me.

I like Vinny, but to seriously think ghosts exist is a little silly. The whole "there are things we don't understand!" line doesn't work for me. I think we can understand pretty much everything in the universe as long as we have something to study. Ghosts don't make sense, physically, what are they made of? Are they aware? Where is their brain? How do they perceive electromagnetic radiation? Where do they get the energy to manifest, to move, to speak? You don't need to argue about a soul or an afterlife to disprove ghosts, just argue how they actually physically exist.

@evanbower: Rorie is just opinionated and I like that. In an age where a lot of game media people are reluctant to flat out say something is awful I appreciate his candor.
