If this game had actually done all the things it's trying to do well instead of terribly, it would have been an all time great. There's the skeleton of an incredible game under all this, but none of it is executed even competently.

I beat this game about a month ago for the first time (with... less loads). It's bad, but, not the worst Sonic game by my count (that's Sonic 4 Episode 1)!

It is really hard to articulate just how bad it FEELS though, especially Sonic. Had an alright time with Silver actually, psychic physics stuff is kind of always fun.

Oh is this one the one where Sonic makes out with a human woman?

I love how the game starts out sort of janky but not that bad, but very quickly zooms into being completely baffling. Not just in terms of how badly it controls, but the abrupt loading screens and really basic grammar of how games are meant to function.

Whoever told Dan to save before going into the first level is a fucking narc. Getting a game over and having to sit through the opening sequence a second time is an essential part of playing this game!

Since it's doubtful they'll actually finish the game, and the infamous kissing moment happens at the very end, I feel the need to clarify the language here:

Sonic is dead when it happens, ergo he can't give consent. It would be more accurate to say Sonic "is kissed" by a human woman. There's a whole stack of bad decisions with this game, but don't go pinning this one on him!

1. Silver was a shameless ripoff of Trunks from Dragonball Z. They've admitted as much, down to his origin and color of his hair.

2. Dan had better play this game at least until a Silver level. That's the full experience, nothing more is necessary.

You must complete this Dan, the pain it causes players is a joy to viewers.

This was a really fun stream and all, but GB has 3 playthroughs going now so this slot would be fun for some random games each week.

Unless you do Zone of the Enders 2 (skip 1) because it's a true Kojima game and Dan can appreciate anime now.

Dan's endless hunger for dumb shit makes me wonder if he has some kind of psychic parasite or something.

Fwiw, while this was an entertaining hour watching Dan experience the misery of this game, the bit will get old fast. I see no reason to keep going.

That fucking Play Magazine review is what convinced me to buy this piece of trash. The editor, Dave Halverson, had tastes similar to mine, so when he was the lone voice of positivity while the rest of the world was shitting all over Sonic 2k6, I trusted that he would not lead me astray. I was absolutely stunned by how terrible this game is. It's like Sonic Team sold their alpha code as a retail product. I never read Play Magazine again.

I don't know if I need this bit/series to continue. I think that the staff has seen what they need to see and should move on with their lives. The game doesn't deserve any more attention.

This was extremely entertaining. You know nowadays you can get FF6 on Steam and it's great (it is about 40 hours), as well as some very good romhacks for the SNES version that update it in all the ways you want but...PLEASE play this at least one more time.

This was great! Jess was especially funny and helpful and really saved Dan from a lot more frustration. Thanks for the fun content guys!

Jeff Grubb's belly laugh is the best thing to come to this site in years.

When I was in college and a few years afterwards I would stream myself playing bad games for 24 hours or until I beat it for Extra Life charity every year. This was the game I played my second year. While it is not the worst game I have ever played, Superman 64 (my 3rd year game) far and away takes that prize, it defiantly is up there as one of the worst, and might be the worst from a major publisher. That being said, I love Dan he is great, but boy do I want to see him beat this game.

I will cancel my sub if Dan doesn't 100% this game.

Pretty impressed she figured out how to beat him so quick. Most get frustrated and blame the game, but yes if your calm you notice his auto action is to grab you for going straight forward, but he's distracted when he picks things up. She seems to be a more aware gamer vs the just go and have a good time, lol, in that she plays puzzle like games in say silent hill, just assumptions and observations. Watched two best friends play that boss and it takes about 3 minutes vs dan's 8 or so to figure it all out...the boss is the dark souls first boss gate keeper of...are you willing to put up with jank this strong...with bad tells like rings around an opponent and you with no rings thus causing you to run forward and insta die...are you ready to play...
