Nah man, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is where it's at! I watched Star Trek for the first time a few years ago, and think both the original series and to a lesser extent The Next Generation has aged pretty poorly. Aside from the first season, Deep Space Nine is fucking awesome.

Hurts my soul to hear Dan and Jeff kick the games I grew up loving to the curb. I still love you Battlefront, Conker, Goldeneye, etc. Sob...

And Dan, next time you play a sim racer with ABS turned off, try not to lock your brakes in EVERY SINGLE TURN. Sorry, but that was brutal.

I would have been 7 when Conkers Bad Fur Day came out. I may have been much younger than the target demographic but I've always thought that game was bad, though it has it's brief moments.

Also Conkers Bad Furday was pretty great but its probably shit if you go back to it. I did like the Matrix fight near the end. That whole Saving Private Ryan level i remember being really hard for no reason.

This "Drew" reminds me of "Vinny Caravella" from the bombcast.

Also, Conquer wasn't funny when it came out on the 64. I was as old as you are, Dan. It was just trying to be offensive.

I don't get too embarrassed by the things I was into as a younger person, but Outlaw Golf sure was something special.

At around 37 minutes, when they talk about how Doom and Wolf3d were sorta pre-giving-a-crap-about-your-video-card, it reminds me that I used to have a PC Gamer on my shelf from like 1994 or 95 that was like "Do you _really_ need a 3D Accelerator card?"

I know I had another one with an article debating the virtues and vices of using mouselook in shooter games.

Conker's Bad Fur Day was actually a good platformer on the N64 even if the humor doesn't really hold up.

Donkey Kong 64 was, is, and always will be a shit game though. and no one thinks DK64 was the best platformer on the platform

Im all for voicing opinions, but you really cant say that The Lord of The Rings films are not good movies. All three were showered with praise every award season, and the third one won Peter Jackson a Best Director Oscar and the award for Best Picture. In fact, it won all 11 Oscars it was nominated for. Certainly not for everyone, and I can totally understand not being interested of willing to invest in any of the movies. But saying they are "not good" is just plain asinine for the sake of being a contrarian.

Whenever there is new content on Giant Bomb it's really exciting. But something about seeing those words Demo Derby... god dammit I think this might be my favorite feature on the site. This is up there with a new bombcast is live. Something you look forward to each week so much that you get anxious after 6pm rolls around on a Tuesday night. You refresh your RSS feed several times. Because it's good content. It's a good reward. Demo Derby isn't set on a schedule but it's always a wonderful surprise to see when a new one is up. I genuinely love this site.

I considered myself to like Star Wars more than Star Trek for a long time. More because of kotor than the movies, and to be fair those games are still awesome. Started watching the original Star Trek this year and realized...I really knew nothing about Star Trek with which to base my opinion, and it's way better than Star Wars, straight up. "The thinking man's scifi," is the perfect way to put it, Jeff. If you like politics and philosophy, Star Trek is where it's at. Star Wars is still cool in some ways, but it's a lot of style and no substance. Star Trek is like the opposite. Lot of substance, and no style (have you seen those outfits?!). If you could somehow combine the two you would have the perfect scifi franchise.

The 2 Rocky games on XBox/PS2 were perfectly fine boxing games for the pre-Fight Night Round 3 era. Plus the voiceovers in the Rocky Legends game were so bad they were good.
