the Thrasher skateboarding game by Rockstar actually came out before Tony Hawk... it plays totally different and it's supposed to be a "simulation" so the moves don't defy gravity... if you don't get out of each level before the time limit, the camera switches to a first person view from the perspective of a cop with a tazer, and you lose if you don't get to the exit before he catches you. also, though i cant blame them for making fun of the corny techno in the vid, the final game has a soundtrack of old school 80s/early 90s hip hop. the manual even includes a short educational essay on the songs within the game! i think it was a cool game but it was tough and it got overshadowed by the wave of arcade-style skateboarding games that came shortly after. but, as the bombers suggest, the graphics were crap even back then.

I honestly wonder: how many people watching thing remember when the Playstation didn't have analogue sticks?

I'm so glad they played Omega Boost. That game was so much fun! One of my fav ps1 games for sure.

Going underground... and coming up rich. It was actually quite impressive the sheer variety of content available on this demo disc. It was properly diesel.

I keep coming back to this video even now. Probably one of the best bits of content GB has released.
