Reviews: Dragon Age: Origins Video Review

great review, great game!

amazing review dave, pre ordered the 360 version yesterday after rewatching both quicklooks, and this review just confirms it was a good idea :D

Glad the review was so detailed; it's hard for me to believe they'd take the time to put in the amount of energy into this game that you're saying they've done, given the way things have been going.  I needed someone to actually go into specifics instead of just saying they were right to call it BGII's successor.
 
The comparison to WOW-style management makes me a bit skittish because my experience with team-based MMORPG combat is limited ("that dwarf is stealing the loot again!?!") so I don't know if I have the skill set this game is asking me to have.  Do you think someone not used to the cool-down and item management of MMORPGs might have a bit of a learning curve, even if he or she is relatively good at spell and power management from BG I and II?

Dave was just lip-syncing.   they keep saying Dragon Age is so dark and mature and realistic but it's hard to believe the darkness and maturity when all the characters look like Disney cartoons. i may be spoiled by the realistic-lookin Demon's Souls which takes place in the same time period or Mass Effect which is from the same developer, but still. everybody looks goofy in Dragon Age which totally takes away from the awesomeness and maturity. "

I hope your joking, or just trolling. If you're being serious.....just stop. He has reviewed games before, and general does reviews for PC games. He wrote the review himself, and he is actually very good at doing them, even to plenty of peoples surprise. "

Great video review mate.  I was going to give this game a miss, for some reason I thought Bioware had put there B team on this game, while the A team worked on Mass Effect 2 but your review changed my mind.  Top stuff.

Dave that was awesome, well done! Really enjoyed the review, I think you nailed it and I have a good idea of what its like and who its for.. Looks like a really nice throwback to the awesome oldstyle RPGs mixed in with some refined updated WOW elements. Good to know great games like this are still being produced!

Great review Dave!  I haven't replayed the Baldur's Gate games in quite a few years, so I'm ready for another 50+ hour adventure.  I'm glad it turned out to be a good game, I was worried that it might fall short of what they promised.  My copy should arrive today, can't wait!

can someone tell me tho is this mmo strickltly? i did watch the quick look dave did but i dont think he delt with that issue entierly 
 
  i kinda hate mmo for this type of game, i dont know why but i do 
 so will i have as much fun out of this that i had with the other type of games i uset to,  (mainly never winter nights 2, warcraft 3 ) u know the old single person. games i played baldurs gate but gave up on it cos of the graphics looking non par (first time i picked it up was in 2007) it really concerns me about mmo tho . 
 
i enjoy these type of games on my own . and id really like to experince this one in that way :P
 
being mmo actually puts me of this, a bit but im sure il enjoy it anyway!

Good review, Dave. Still not sure if to choose PC or 360 though... I can output better resolution and sound but I've grown comfortable playing my games from the couch lately. I mean, I understand that the radial menu isn't as appealing than a regular menu. But does it hinder the gameplay experience? That's probably  my biggest question.

It looks good, I was amazed by the amount of hours of a single playthrough - it's more then I spent on any Infinity Engine game's on it's own!
