This is exactly how I feel.  Then again, I was quite a bit younger when I first played it.  Perhaps it will appeal to me this time.

Yup. The PSX iterations are great games (not so much P1), but play very differently. If you are buying this for crazy ass S links, you are going to sorely disappointed.

I remember Personas 1&2 leaning far more towards the occult/satan/goth than P3 or P4 have. But that's been many a moon ago. If it's cheap I'm in for playing it again.

I'm so glad that the P4 endurance run happened haha, its great that a game that so many people would have overlooked has become really mainstream on GB, thats awesome!

Nich is a swell guy and he's been writing in and about games (and Shin Megami Tensei) for a hell of a long time. Here's a retrospective he wrote on Persona 1 way back in 2000 when he was still a part of the now defunct GIA:

What if, WHAT IF, Persona 5 was set 10-15 years in the future of Persona 4. All of the characters come back because the killings have started again!!! Also, it will use your Persona 4 save a la Mass Effect to determine where you start.

That's what I'm personally hoping for: a new main MegaTen.  As much as I love Persona 2, 3, and 4, I adored Nocturne.  The gameplay of P4 was great, but I'm just aching to see how they do with the new MegaTen.  Persona is an awesome series, but SMT has a lot to it. 

Personally I'd love to see them do something akin to a re-imaging of the original Digital Devil Story that was the initial inspiration for the SMT series.  Americans missed out on a ton of Atlus stuff, and I'd love to see some stuff in the older veins (praying for a Soul Hackers port to PSP or DS or something)

Soul Hackers actually was ported to the PSP awhile back, and Atlus was even ready to localize it, however since it was a completely flat port with no additions Sony apparently stopped them, as they hate mere ports for some reason...

On the plus side, the guys responsible for that P2: Innocent Sin translation are currently working on a Soul Hackers translation, so we'll finally get to actually play it, eventually.

This was for the first Devil Summoner, not Soul Hackers. Getting both or either one over here would still be pretty rad.

...You're right, I'm not sure why I was thinking it was Soul Hackers. Though Soul Hackers is in fact getting fan translation, so the important thing is people are finally going to get a chance to play it. :P
