I agree with Jeff on the Old Republic trailer. Useless CGI footage... this goes for all pure-CG trailers that show nothing about the actual product, but it's obviously doubly bad for an MMO.

The star wars trailer really bugged me too.

The SWTOR comments were hilarious. Sure, I hope it's a good game but as always they were spot-damn-on that it really didn't show anything useful.

Loved that trailer knowing full well that it had nothing to do with the game, it was just a great cinematic Star Wars action piece.

I'd probably be pretty irritated if I had to sit through all that crap, too, especially with Ubisoft coming up.

Maybe it's just me, and maybe because I'm not a game journalist, but the small tidbits in reguards to ships and PvP, plus the fact we have a good year before it comes out, is more than enough for me. As Biowares first MMO plus the way they do announcements, I don't really see any need for a bombardment of gameplay and details. MMO gameplay is never that exciting to show by itself, and they take game specific details very slow and seriously.

Glad to see they hated the CG trailers too. They are just a complete waste of time and not worth taking time away from actual demos.

I really don't understand what people expect from the Old Republic shit. Do you really need to see gameplay of the same fucking MMO like every MMO? They are all pointless grinding money sinks. Just play the one set in the universe you like. All that trailer did was give a setting and brackground for the game they are making. It didn't kill your children or do anything to you.

That is an amazing Zaxxon shirt! I think the SWTOR trailer is important, in that it establishes the style of the game. Outside of simply setting up the main plot background, it also shows what the classes will do (albiet it a highly stylized manner). It's stuff like, yo, these jedi's wear armor because they're at war, and the bounty hunter will have jetpack skills. I will agree that they should show gameplay as well, but the trailer isn't completely useless. Also there are gameplay vids out there and they've been around for a while.

No no, I gotta say I'm with Jeff.  That Star Wars trailer pissed me off too.  I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way.  They do the same shit with WoW, as well...
