Some of the movement seems a little... unwieldy, but then even when it attempts to add all of this extra flexibility, this is still a Resident Evil game after all. It almost reminds me of Yakuza: Dead Souls in a way, most notably how Leon runs. But it still looks fun regardless, and I'm still highly excited to try this for myself in July with the demo.

Not super relevant, but Im just re-watching the first 7 seconds, that intro is great. The detail with Patrick's minority report scrolling is really impressive.

@Blood_for_the_blood_God: I was wondering that myself. I guess he wanted to go out as a hero. Or got distracted by all the zombies. Or maybe he just would rather die to the horrific explosions than get in a helicopter with Leon S. Kennedy, where he would die to more horrific explosions?

Anyway, I'm pretty disappointed by this trailer. I heard there was going to be survival horror somewhere in this game and this is certainly not it.

Found the relevant text in the wiki, though I don't know what the source for it is: "This puts Leon back into a situation very similar to his days in Raccoon City. With this we will see a return to the more classic survival horror gameplay from previous incarnations of the RE series, going back to slow zombies rather than the more mutated Ganados of RE4 and RE5." Hmm. I suppose this is just one part of it. Maybe the rest of the Leon campaign is everything I want it to be.

@Zombie_Shakespeare: It's best you ignore the plot section, it's primarily subjective speculation from another editor who posted it soon after the very first trailer was posted. There will be some survival horror elements such as the pacing, but from what I can tell it's only apparent during the early beginnings of the game.

looks good but its not the RE i grew up with, i miss the survivor horror aspect of the game, just feels like the matrix met zombies now.

holy shit was that stupid how they had you do a QTE when the zombie was attacking elena in the helicopter instead of just having you aim at the enemy.. wtf.

the character animations are weird. They seem jerky; too fast and fake looking, especially when edging up on walls. The gun sound effects are weak.

This is WAAAAAAAAY too much. This is the Family Guy chicken fight of action, it's way absurd. This makes Call Of Duty look subtle and reserved. With this game I was hoping The Leon stuff would be old school Resident Evil, and the Chris sections could go nuts. I guess it's all just insanity though...

I played a lot of RE5 & noticed something immediately that irritates me. In RE5 you had a visible beam from laser sight to target, whereas now it's just a center point in a reticule. I enjoyed the challenge of making head shots at distance in RE5, using the beam as a guide until it was no longer visible in bright areas. It looks like RE6 is even more 'modern action' than I thought it would be.

The weird thing is, in the other story trailer, you can clearly spot (during the aeroplane part) Leon's gun with a laser sight. So I wonder if maybe it's no an attachment you have to buy? Or either the laser sight or the crappy reticule is the placeholder so they can improve... whichever one it is they plan to keep. If that's the case, hopefully it's the laser sight.

Yeah the reticule was bad.. seemed very, very out of place. Don't know if it was the design of it or just the fact it wasn't the laser.

I loved the look of that, except for that horrific reticule, BRING THE LASER BACK. I'm fine with change, but this isn't even a good one, it looks worse, and there IS a laser pointer but it seems to just aim for you, yet was never actually in the center of the reticule, which was just...I dunno how you're even meant to play that, it makes no sense, looked as though he just autoaimed at a zombie (which is crap enough in itself) and then the pointer randomly aimed somewhere within that

@theimmortalbum: I hope it was just there to make playing the demo a bit easier, because the last thing I want is a giant cross breaking the immersion It wouldn't surprise me to see it left in if marketing data suggests it'll help to sell copies by enhancing the action. Just look at the direction they're taking Dead Space 3. I'm not into the Dead Space franchise, but I feel for those who are.

That's strange, your weapons where phisically visible in on the character like in RE5 now Leon pulls a shotgun out of nowhere they should fix that . I'm still excited for the game not as much as I was for 5 and I really like that one , I hope this one delivers.

I'm all up for changing the formula but at this rate they should just make a new IP and stop dragging the RE name along, it's clear they don't want to make -that- game anymore, so just do something else!
