You're right. They sound like they're being forced to play through the game and aren't enjoying it at all.

As soon as I heard they chose this game, I knew this ER would not be as good as previous ones. So much of the fun in the previous ERs came from the cutscenes and voice-acting, and the general madness of the story. But none of that really exists here.

Also Ryan should not be driving this; he is at his best when he is riffing and saying funny shit, not concentrating on figuring out how to play an old arse JRPG.

@Herrdoktor: I would hope not... although after today's episode... I dunno.

That Masamune fight was painful. I have 10$ that says they lose to Magus at least once before they figure out what "magic barrier" refers to.

Also, they will never give Frog magic, unless they happen across it by accident again. It will never occur to them.

Didn't laugh at "Tata" in the last episode, but "Tata and the Frog" made me chuckle this time.

Well, it's becoming kind of a game, watching them get close to figuring out that Bucca doesn't have her Fire magic. They were using Ice Sword, and appreciating how powerful it is. If they figured out how the Ice comes from Barle... and how they didn't get it when they did that same Masa/Mune fight with Bucca...

...it was close, dammit.

Lucca tends to not be that great at the beginning anyway, unless you're playing with both her and Marle. Aura Whirl/Beam makes the game a lot easier.

Is anyone keeping track of how much these guys are screwing up? Like a list of all the chests they walked right by, dialogue they've just ignored, all the times they've wasted AOEs on single target enemies? I really don't want to start hating the endurance run I just want some sort of marker about how little they actually give a shit about this particular one. If they don't enjoy doing the endurance run they should seriously lay off of it or find a game somebody on the team actually wants to play.

Oh yeah, tons of us are keeping lists. There's actually a bunch of war threads on the forums right now from people trying to decide which list is the best, by which we mean "the most batshit insane." We're also discussing which horrible way to compare the Endurance Run is the most offensive and stupid, so we can all make sure to use it. Right now we're leaning towards "this is like watching the Holocaust happen to baby angels."

I started watching this ER later and I'm at this part, probably nobody is going to be reading this, I wonder if they got the guys that play the least JRPGs. I hate when they just pass by text, I'm like god damn it...

They don't listen to the people, I'm no JRPG fan I've only played a couple and only finished FFVII that was like 2 years ago cause I wanted to see how it ended.

They just power through everything, good thing I've only played half and hour of this game so I'm not yelling more than I should be, like when they missed a chest or USE SLASH!

It's so stupid I know they can't hear me but something in me just makes me yell stuff, it's like when you're watching a sports game and yelling at your team to pass or some shit like that.

@Pop: Do you remember when Vinny casted Bufu during the Persona 4 ER? I assure you, you are not the only person to yell at your monitor while watching these guys play. It's all a part of the Endurance Run excitement.

As for all the people who actually freak out with rage in the comments section after every single episode about how they're doing it wrong…those people make me wonder…

best not to read the comments, before or after viewing. otherwise i'll get annoyed at things i wouldn't have if i didn't read about them.
