Endurance Run: Chrono Trigger - Part 16

Is there away to disable video comments? I have found a way to block myself from the forums using adblock.. how do I do it with video comments?? 
 
I found a way! add www.giantbomb.com##DIV[class="comments-wrap"] to the adblock window in the google chrome adblocker.  
 
@Rox360, yeah but every time I click a video I can still see the comments right under it. Anyway, sorted it now :)

What's with the "YES INDEED!" those bosses let out before their powerful attacks? I think Heckran said it too, and I can't for the life of me remember what they said in the DS version in stead.

Ryan's ability to forget is amazing

Can't wait for Ryan to realize he can press Y to swap the UI during battles making some enemies easier to see!

Not going to happen.

I've never played this game and dont want to sound like i'm coming from the "you're doing it wrong" camp but I feel like they should have at least tried some magic on the boss... but they made it through, so whatever... just an observation.

They already found that out, which means they'll never remember it.

So hard to watch, but that is why I endure.

If I came here to watch someone play through the game quickly id find a speedrun. It's about the journey- not the destination, folks.

Guys, it wouldn't be an endurance run if they played well. Personally, I enjoy watching them fumble through, speedruns are boring.

It is no wonder why Jeff has no interest in ever doing more ERs now. Reading these comments...

I love seeing people getting pissed off about how thay play the game. News Flash! If you only get frustrated watching this then it might be better to just not watch it. Go back and re-watch the Persona 4 ER or someting, unless that frustrates you aswell.

Getting to Magus' Castle is the exact moment that my save f'd up and I stopped playing. This is where things are going to get really interesting.

Great episode! Bryatrick are definitely getting better at this, despite that annoying dismissal of the awesome triple tech. I never knew you could even get a triple tech that early, an inexpensive one at that. They remembered Brogs magic though!

That castle really creeped me out when I was younger; I had to turn it off the first time because it felt really oppressive without the music playing at the start. And their survival against Slash was impressive, that fight usually gets me killed at least once on every playthrough. I'd say they have a good chance of surviving the entire place.

Oh man, that Slash fight was intense. I thought for sure they were done for and hadn't saved in ages.

Elitists = people who look at the screen while they're playing instead of whatever it is Ryan's looking at. I like to think he's reading Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment. Then it all makes sense.

Really? Because they seem to be very competent especially in this episode. How can someone be bad at an RPG? That makes no sense. These guys clearly know what they are doing. If not they wouldn't be able to have made it this far in the game. They don't have the advantage that you do of having played the game multiple times, or a guide.

Also, great to see Brog's crowning moment of awesome, in this game, in this episode. Hopefully that and his sheer strength in physical and magical forms lead the guys to keeping him as a main throughout the whole game. But for the fight against Bagus they should bring in Barle instead of Bobo for use of the IceWater dual tech between Barle and Brog. This skill counts as water and ice so it confuses Bagus during the elemental switching phase.

I really hope that either someone lets Ryan and Patrick know or they figure out that they get no experience and tech points on the characters that die in battle. So far they've have 2 or 3 boss fights with dead characters present??

I figure missing out on 500+ exp could be detrimental to later boss fights.

I just continue to love the people predicting their oncoming doom only to then have to come to terms with the realization that JRPGs are meant to play themselves and auto-balance anyway. I guess it retroactively defuses all the kids that thought they were super-hardcore because they made it through Final Fantasy VII. And you know what? I'm cool with that.

The DS version got a re-translation, or at least some clean-up on the rough translations from the SNES version. "Yes, indeed!" is a pretty good example of something that really just doesn't play on this side of the world. The descriptions of items and attacks are much more clear and consistent on the DS. I always knew Slash was not a physical attack but I didn't know it was considered "Light" elemental like all of Crono's other elemental attacks until I played the DS version. The SNES version says it does "Wind" damage or something.

Also, This game isn't hard at all. They may bumble around and such but, The fact remains this game is not even remotely difficult.

They're going to the edge of time to get Brog's magic?!?!?!?! THEY'RE LEARNING! THEY'RE ACTUALLY LEARNING!!!

Are they occasionally awful at this game? Sure. It is hard to watch sometimes? Sure. Is it still entertaining to see them fumble around? You bet.

But I predict them getting fucked hard by Flea and Magus for a good while. Flea seems much more difficult than Slash and they already had a hard time with him. Oh well it should make for an interesting episode and even more "interesting" comments.
