Endurance Run: Deadly Premonition: Part BR-17

All said and done, it looks like they've got a pretty decent strategy going, considering their health/ammo situation. I'm still rooting for you, team BR! Just... rooting for you to find one of these infinite ammo weapons everyone's been talking about, too.

Protip: Go buy health packs from Freckly Fiona at the hospital!

Can you not lock on to scary lady, or is brad just not thinking of these things? 
 
Oh, and methinks the infinite SMG would have done a lot of good there.

That was some tense stuff right there, the likes of which we haven't seen since some of the early boss fights in the P4 ER - it's a fun watch in a different way to the funny and quirky storyline stuff.
 
Also, I can't fault Brad for anything with that wall/ceiling-crawler in any way - it's tough stuff when BR have no health or ammo compared to VJ who are swimming in it and have too much to hold onto.  It's quite cool seeing them hone their tactics over time in this episode.

I watched "Ask me - Halo Reach" video yesterday and there you can see, that Brad plays Halo Reach really good, i mean REALLY,REALLY GOOD, on that recording. Probably because it's just a recording and he was "focused" on the game at the time he was playing it, because he didn't have to talk and play at the same time.:D So, i think that Brad IS a great player, dude's.:D Probably a lot better than most of you / us. :D:D:P "

Talk to keith at the milkbarn and do his sidemission.

Hopefully they'll find a good strategy for the wall-crawler fight, because they'll have to fight multiple ones in a row later.
 
My best luck with them has been with the infinite wrench, but I assume other melee weapons would work just as well, as long as they don't break. What they should be doing is luring the monster towards them, then run under it, forcing it to glow red and attack. If you keep running while it does this, you should be able to avoid the attack, then do a quick 180 degree turn, then hit the monster lady with a few bullets or a melee weapon until it turns invisible again. Repeat the process until it falls to the ground, then mash the B button to dodge the fireball. Then do it all over again. Seriously, it takes forever with weak weapons, and even the infinite SMG doesn't help much. Worst part of the game, I agree.

How do you make a game with core mechanics this bad.
 
I mean, RE4 came out 5 years ago!

Do graveyard sidequests.  Get infinite flamethrower.  (It's not good vs. normal enemies.  It's good vs. these things.)

I respect these guys for not going and reading up on all this stuff you're throwing at them in the comments, if they knew what they were doing it just wouldn't be the same endurance run.  There were times in the P4 endurance run where I wondered if they'd ever get through but they did it, they were pretty quick to pick up a valid strategy for that boss so I'm sure they'll get through.
 
It really is interesting watching both ERs when they're not 'cross-pollenating' as it was put - yeah they could really use some of the info that VJ have, but then we'd just be watching the exact same stuff twice over.  Plus I kinda hope these guys don't find that inf SMG so that right at the end VJ will be "but that inf SMG was awesome" and BR will be gutted :P

Oh my god, this become an epic example of pulling a Brad... Wasting all your ammo and then saving right before the new enemy type or boss is the classic survivor horror nightmare. Valiant effort with the gold club though.

Favorite Line:
 
Ryan: "Little S-turn messin' you guys up, for real." 

 And that wall-crawler felt like an old school boss fight even though it didn't appear to be an actual boss monster, just a new enemy. Die a couple times while you figure out its patterns and test your optimal responses, then go to town. It was rough watching them die, but man did it make me nostalgic in a good way.

 It's so entertaining seeing VJ so much farther back in the story, but having a slew of health kits, a new hot rod, a 360 capacity SMG with infinite ammo...  and then there's BR who actually managed to turn this into a survival horror game.  :o "

Strategy? In my ER? It's more likely than you think.
 
But yeah, good work on learning how to hold your breath, break boxes, and use items. Next time will hopefully bring the importance of sleeping to full health and eating at the diner to keep your hunger at bay.

I can't fault Brad for his play in this episode. They learned pretty much everything they need to know about the crawler's patterns, except that you can avoid the red glowy attack by running past her, giving you a larger window to deal damage than the one before her attack (and being safer, too). They utilized a lot of resources and weapons, too.
