I just checked the secret door video on youtube and Jeff had it right. You needed that card (Polly card) to get the door to unlock.

Well... i'm glad that's over.

 Great job seeing it through to the end dudes. I know DP isn't for everyone, but it's certainly my type of game, and seeing you guys play it motivated me to pick it up. I've sunk in double the time you guys have thus far. 
 
I agree that the story's ending is a little disappointing, and I didn't enjoy the whole anime style monster bosses at the end, but that's Japan for you. I think the real meat of the game is in discovering more about Greenvale through the sidequests, but I guess everyone will have to pick up the game themselves to see that stuff. It's definitely worth it.

Very nice ending. This game has a great story and SWERY had a great concept. Honestly though, the low budget isn't an excuse for the poor controls.

Thank you very much Jeff and Vinny for enduring another run.  It didn't have the special something that the P4 ER did, but I thoroughly enjoyed your play and commentary of another game that had its fair share of oddities - I think you chose a good game.  Hope to see another ER at some point in the future - many many people would love to see it.
 
Story query:  This is really about the previous episode, but one thing I'm unclear on is whether the Greenvale residents were seeing Zach the whole time but he was just imagining relating to them as York (who seems to be his idealised picture of a cool FBI agent) or if York actually changed to Zach in a physical way that everyone in the real Greenvale could see?  I couldn't work out what had happened from the reactions of those around York/Zach because they seemed to be conflicting to me as to what the reality was.

I'm really surprised that they didn't like it more. I mean, sure, the gameplay is atrocious, but the story and characters have been practically universally applauded. But, hey, whatever.

For the record, SWERY does have a twitter!  Most of it's in Japanese, but still you apparently get some English info.  The only one I know for sure is that he confirmed the Other World does exist, so it's not just in York/Zach's head.  I suppose that makes sense.  I mean, if he was just going mad and killing real people, that would be hundreds dead by the end of the game.  This in a town small enough to get worked up by one murder.  
 
So I guess this makes Kaysen a demon of some sort, or maybe just someone who really learned how to turn immortal from the seeds.  I like that latter option more, especially if it means he has to kill people to grow more red trees to prolong his immortality, as opposed to him just doing it because he's EEEEVIL.  By that logic, Emily destroying the tree was what gave him that tiny weakness which York/Zach exploited to kill him.  Forever?  I suppose that depends on how this game sells.
 
Having just finished the game myself, I have to say I enjoyed it overall.  The combat was clunky, but the game really rewarded you for doing the side missions, from the infinite weapons to the teleporting radio that the BR team got to suits that extend your health and stress bars.  And I really enjoyed the gonzo story and cutscenes and the game's open-ended nature.  It reminded me of Majora's Mask in a good way. 
 
Oh, one more thing.  That last psychic map?  It gives you an infinite RPG, as others mentioned.  But the only enemies in the area are the game's bosses, so you'd have to fight Thomas, George, and all three forms of Kaysen again to get it.  And all of them seem to do way more damage this time around.  It took me a few tries to finish it all.

Not as memorable as the P4 ER, but this was pretty damn entertaining.

It's no Persona 4, but I'll miss this Endurance Run. It was a fun game to at least watch. Now I need to go and read some wiki of something to explain half of the ending again.

Choosing this game was an excellent decision. It being "only" 20 hours long has its advantages. Watching the P4 run every day for months was very satisfying, though. I kinda wish to have anohter one of those, but I know that would be taxing on everybodys time. ^^
