Actually, it's pretty horrible.  What do you mean?  The only thing rushing does is it makes turns go extra fast and it makes the characters only use their weapons.  And doing that against the final boss, Izanami, is suicide. "
I might've begun the battle using the Rush command. When it became Yukiko's turn (and my party was hurt pretty bad) I'd always stop it and heal.   Heck, I even had an accessory that gives you all your health back if your HP reaches 0 and the boss never killed me. I salute this 'accidental' rush command. I also kind of wish they'd use it more often... "
Are you sure that was an accessory or an item?  Because from the sound of it, it seems you were playing on Easy.  There's no way that would work for Izanami in Normal mode, as you could see from what happened when Vinny actually did it.

The problem with the final boss music is that the build up is about 5 minutes long, with the fanfare remix only being about 1. That makes for a pretty quiet fight...

Rise: LOOK OUT! We've never seen anything like her!

Vinnie: NO-SHIT!

Thank you, that made my day and is easily one of the funniest reactions in the entire Endurance Run.

Endurance Run should be put away till Persona 5 comes out. There is nothing else that can do it justice.

@FluxWaveZ: Nope, it was normal mode. I got an accessory either from the last dungeon, or from the materials I sold.  I dont remember.

But anyway, I would hit the rush button because I'd want to conserve SP since I didnt hold onto any Soma items or have any SP items that gave back enough.

Of course I'd guard when it'd be a good idea. I'd use items when necessary. Of course I'd use magic. I didnt rush the whole time.

My problem is not that it's "quiet" for so long.  It's that it basically builds up to the awesome remix of Reach Out To The Truth for no reason.  What I mean is that the music is threatening and grand for a long while, fitting the enemy you're up against very nicely.  But then it can lead up to that remix, that is basically filled with hope and makes one feel that victory's right around the corner, even if you're badly losing!  The developers should have made it in a way that the remix only kicks in when you are actually about to win and not be heard right in the beginning of the fight.

I'm not a guy who goes to video game websites very often. I have a ps3 that I play maybe a couple hours a week and that's it. I came here because a friend told me your quick looks are way better than printed video game reviews for telling me whether or not a particular game is one I would like to buy. I found he was right and that your running commentary was also hilarious. I came for that and enjoyed them and one day I decided to see what the hell an endurance run was. I had never even heard of persona 4. The persona 4 endurance run was what sold me on giant bomb. Vinny and Jeff have a comic chemistry that coupled with the funny game has been pretty much the most fun I've ever had on the internet. Going to giant bomb is now an every day thing for me. I'm really sad to see you guys so close to finishing the endurance run. I really hope you start up another one. I think it is obvious that persona 5 if it ever comes out is the best choice. However I'd like to see you guys attempt persona 3. I bet the amount of time it would take you to beat persona 3 would be about how long it would take persona 5 to come out. I know I've only been registered here maybe a week but I've been coming here for a couple months and I've literally watched every episode of the endurance run, and most of the quick looks and video reviews. I hope you guys have another endurance run in the works.

Man this really does feel like the end :( I'm going to miss this, but we had some great memories. I've kept up with every episode along the way. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Persona 4 was a perfect game for the Endurance Run's debut (155 episodes!!!). Man, good times.

This really does feel like the end. :( I'm going to miss this. But I'm also really glad it's ending. It shows Vinny and Jeff have enough competence to complete what they set out to do (sort of). Ok they exceeded what they set out to do. Persona 4 was a perfect game for Endurance Run's debut (155 episodes!!!). Man good times. There were a lot of good memories and countless hilarious moments. It felt like I was right there with you guys.

I really liked the music playing during Izanami's first form. One of my favourites. :)

I've been listening to this fucking theme for a few hours now. It's hard to believe that the Endurance Run is almost over, and it's hard to believe I actually have watched 154 episodes and over 98 hours of it. It's so well worth it though, and I'm actually pretty sad that Persona 4 is coming to an end.

Here's to the end of the Persona 4 Endurance Run and whatever will come next.

Oh jeez, loved this episode, can't wait for the conclusion. Feel most of what I could say has already been said enough times, although hitting triangle was too good; typical of this run.

I support a P3 Endurance Run wholeheartedly, even if it takes you longer than this one. There may be a lot of people against the idea, and the plot of this game, I admit, may have gotten a little convoluted towards the end, but there really isn't any other game I could see working this well as an 'Endurance Run'. You could play through other games, but unless it was an RPG it would lose the endurance feeling, and unless it was a Persona game I doubt the script would keep people all that entertained.

In either case, whatever happens, thanks for everything. Should really save this for tonights episode, but it's been a great year all the same and words couldn't describe just how great it's felt following along. Cheers. :)

If you've watched Endurance Run since it began (which I haven't but I'm still in the process of catching up), then by the end of this year, you'll have spent 1% of the year watching Endurance Run (and Jeff & Vinny have will have spent 1% of the year playing it...!) (90+hrs / [24hrs * 365days])

That would be a pain in the neck to code/program, a huge pain.. but I can't help but agree with you 100%. This is just an assumption, but I feel that they probably would have loved to do that, but were approaching this game the "japanimation" way -- that is, saving money and time wherever possible, because the biggest portion of the developers' budget goes to the voice cast.
You've already probably thought of this, but a great solution would have been to have two music tracks -- load and buffer both at the beginning of the fight, and play the first until Izanami's at 1/3 health, then crossfade into the second.

Rushing Izanami. Truly the best battle in the entirety of the Endurance Run.

Runner up for this ep:Forgetting the set damage items when they were up against the 100HP robot(thus making the battle take several turns instead of one). I know you never use them, but surely you remember they exist, right? I mean, you keep picking them up!

"
I accidentally rushed the end  boss of Persona 3. The boss was reflecting physical at the time and I died in one hit.

I don't know much of anything about coding, but that's exactly how I think they should have implemented it.  Maybe even have the tune come in a little later than at Izanami's 1/3 health point.

I love all the boss battle tunes in this game: the general one, Namatame and Adachi's, Ameno-Sagiri's, and the two here. As you go through the game it keeps getting more and more epic, although I agree with the complaints about the final boss music.

But my PS2 is so old and busted that the music cuts out every now and then, and it really sucks when it does it for the final boss. It also makes it a bitch for anything to load in P3.

EDIT: nooooooooo, cliffhanger!
