I'm rewatching metal gear scanlon 5 and the comparison of "new dan"'s take on food back then vs now..

Looks really promising. Cut a lot of the fat added in the second and brought back some of the good stuff from the first. There was a simplistic purity to the first game though, and like the second it stills seems to struggle a bit with finding the right ways to enhance that experience.

This was a good Unfinished EX, nice banter and David was great!

I'm also glad that Dan got in a couple more digs at Death Stranding.

Blood pancakes was a very very common lunch item in school growing up in Sweden. I don't know if I've been conditioned to love them but I can down a dozen of them any day.

I loved CSD on the iPad, but never got friendly with the controls on PC with CSD2 - this looks great though :)

Also, croque monsieur is great. Super easy to make and just delicious. Also, great to see Dan finally come around and call nuggets a side!

I have loved all CSD games so far and I'm excited to get this one too. The lore in the last game was insane and I need more of it. I literally spent a night looking at lore in CSD! 2!!

This is great! I absolutely adore this series and I know David is a big long-time fan of the site (he has also made several notable Extra Life donations IIRC) so it's cool to actually have him on.

I'm always here for more CSD!, and always glad to see the Ryan Davis representing. <3

My favorite moment at a PAX East was chatting with Chubigans over CSD2, and talked to him about the Ryan Davis burger. He said that Ryan did a fantastic job on the QL for the first CSD, because it was that video and word of mouth that made the series as popular as it is today.

I hope you serve people beer at 9 AM like in the first game.

@null_subject: From all of what I've heard of it (celeb cameos, etc), it just seems like a giant wankfest concentrated around how great Kojima is.

I've never seen anyone put toppings in Pho for me at a restaurant but I've never seen a food truck Pho before

I love cook, serve, delicious so I'm excited for this.

I still loved CSD2 but seeing a more established progression return for this game makes me very excited to play it.

Nothing wrong with eating blood, offal is good and even if you're not into it personally it means less food waste which is a good thing.

I loved CSD1 but couldn't get into CSD2. I'll give the third one a try though.

@trottyvek: Honestly at this point I'm way more excited to see that cork pop than to actually know about Death Stranding. Whether I agree or whether it's just another hyper specific Dan problem.

Great job David! You fit in well with the crew, and CSD3 is looking great.

Liked David on here quite a bit. It came off quite natural. That said, when it comes to the gameplay, i don't see many improvements on the concept. Like it still feels to me like CSD1 is the one i like the best. I like having to hold down the fries for a while. I like having to time the beer. I like having to flush the toilet. All those little twists on the gameplay seem to be gone this time around. I guess you still get some fun ways to make the different foods. Lasagna was always pretty satisfying to make. It also sounds like David would rather do something else but had to make a new one for business reasons. I hope he gets to make something new after this one.

People who are the first to write languages in Roman script in ways that defy even their OWN language's rules are the worst (Fuh > Pho).

So is this game just The Postman but for food?

Listen everyone is going to pronounce something blatantly wrong in someone else's language anyway so just be wrong enthusiastically and move on.

that's what the alphabet is supposed to do though. someone went to the trouble of making sure Vietnamese in Roman script had accent marks yet PHO.

CSD is very cool, but geez it's way too hard. I'm glad it's still doing well though.

This was such a wholesome QL. CSD holds a special place in my heart for weird games (Papers Please is there too). Looking forward to the next one!

The only thing I love about the CSD series is:

-The art.

-The music.

-The gameplay.

-Everything else.

I will be buying CSD3 on every platform and I will be buying CSD3 remastered on all future platforms.

Yeahh, Dan's curt responses about Death Stranding around the 30 min mark definitely point to him not liking it at all. Unless he's doing a bit, which is entirely possible when it comes to Dan.

I think I would find this more fun and usable if the UI for the orders and the number of, or what, ingredients you need were done in a vertical style like an actual check from a wait staff member. The way is it presented under the picture of the food getting made, down there in that little box, seems a little poorly designed. I think even just presenting that to-do list in a vertical style vs. a horizontal one will make you game feel and play much better. But I am just a consumer, what do I know?
