Also site's working great, Dave.

@ganz32: If you want some great Dave content, you should definitely go back and watch some of the Random PC game videos with Dave and Vinny, some of my favourite content on the site. Police Quest: SWAT, Blade Runner, and the full playthrough of Phantasmagoria being highlights, as is Burn: Cycle, which also featured Ryan. Those and the Flight Club videos, particularly the Huey module for DCS.

Don't forget about that Happy Hour where Dave drove GT5 drunk, and Will and Norm did blind drink taste tests. Can't remember if that was also the cool baby episode, but either way it's a winner.

I synced up Drew's takeoff with the Beasts of the Southern Wilds theme. Just nailed the musical backing for every moment: takeoff, crash, walking away, all of it!

This makes me want a "Giant Bomb Alumni" section of the site where people can watch the best stuff from Dave, Ryan, maybe even some of the other Whiskey people like Will & Norm? Be good for newcomers to catch up on some of the history of Giant Bomb and the people that made contributions to this site.

They had similar-ish but also distinctly different personalities - but they were an absolutely amazing duo. They had the incredibly chemistry you see in great comedic duos. Jeff and Ryan could have easily done radio or sketch comedy together and would have been very successful. It is a rare and beautiful thing in any entertainment industry. I imagine Ryan's passing was absolutely devastating for Jeff on both a personal and professional level. It's a tribute to his professionalism and flexibility that he managed to both carry on and adapt to really single-handedly carrying the flag for Giant Bomb. At this point he is undeniably "the guy" when you talk about this site.

If you want to see a lot of Ryan's personality I would suggest the TANG videos (This Ain't No Game). It highlights how much energy he could bring, how much he could enjoy some dumb stuff, but how he was also intellectually razor-sharp when he wanted to describe exactly what made something good or bad. He was a fantastic guy and a tremendous loss. I remember watching the videos a few years back and thinking he could easily transition into a career as a film critic if he wanted to. His passion for the medium and his ability to put it into words was incredible.

Also I think you'd be surprised at how worth-while listening to the old podcasts are. A lot of old discussion is incredibly relevant to current events, and it's also very interesting to hear their "in the moment" thoughts as opposed to the way people look back on games years later.
