As to Dan's question of the bumper stickers - if they are three letters, those are usually airport codes like SFO, BOS etc. If it says DMB they probably are godless Dave Matthews Band fans though.

This is the run

As a filthy European, those stickers are from before the unified licence plate scheme in the EU, and they were required to show where your car was registered, now they're mostly integrated into the plates.

SF stands for Suomi Finland, which is where the game is set (Finland). Trying to figure out country codes is fun, because they're not usually obvious, depending on the languages you know (eg CH is Switzerland, from the Latin Confœderatio Helvetica). Some are obvious, though (GB is Great Britian, F is France).

I love Dan's premise for this but this was not the game. Too rough around the edges.

Good premise but I think it needed someone familiar with the game to work.

I actually completely understand Dan's issues with driving - I can drive by myself and it's fine, but if someone else is in the car, my anxiety kicks into overdrive. Took me a long time to get to a place where I'm kind of OK with it.

Can I get some more of this? This game is great wacky fun once you get into it, with lots of random happenings that would great to have the gang react to! I loved this!

At some point somebody here in the US took notice of them and started appropriating them for other things. I'm pretty sure there's one for Walt Disney World ("WDW") and for the various states here.

Boy I would love to see Dan find the forklift. More of this please. Braking Dan new series anyone?

Oh, yeah, they definitely have been used for a bunch of other things (26.2 for marathons or whatever), but that's where they originated, as far as I know.

As someone who spent over 8 hours putting the car together with a guide and STILL not having it start correctly... yeah this is going to kill Dan if it becomes a series

Dan talking about locking his keys in his car reminds me of the time my friends and I helped a young woman who had broken down at an intersection.

Her car stopped and she couldn't get it started, she got out to ask for help as my friends and I crossed the road. As she got out to ask for a push, closing the door and locking the keys in the car at the same time, WITH THE HAND BREAK OFF! The car was on a slight incline and as soon as someone touched it, it started rolling down the hill...

This video had me crying with laughter near the end so thank you guys for that

I can't believe I forgot about the marathons and stuff like that.

I do remember seeing them a lot in their original form when I visited the Netherlands and Germany many years ago. I felt proud of myself for being able to identify many of the countries' initials like CH thanks to my interactions with people on IRC in the late 90s.

I totally understand being confused about cars, they're complicated machines, beyond the basics of combustion and a tie rod works, it's kind of a black box for me.

I basically learn how cars work one broken part at a time, its an expensive education...

Yeah back when I got my license I thought I hated driving in general as my only experience was driver's ed and driving my dad's car while he was sitting next to me. Then once I actually started driving alone I thought it was really relaxing to just cruise down the highway playing the jams I had selected with nobody telling me how I should drive. Ever since then I've been okay with driving alone but I don't like driving other people around.

I kinda wish more of the Finnish text was translated for the non-Finns. Word for word translation of the swears is kinda funny though.

Did this game get more janky, or was Dan just having a harder time finding the action points? I don't recall it being quite this fiddly in the Unfinished.

I still have no idea how this game, a game about Finnish dumbassery (and surprisingly in-depth construction of a car) with obtuse mechanics became recognized abroad. It targets such a particular local subculture but I've seen many foreigners cover it.

Please let this be episode 1.

I watched robbaz play this so much that I can't stand it now. The reason I stopped watching his channel was how often he would play this game. I love the premise of building something elaborate like this but not like this at the same time, although it's a different thing seeing Dan play so this should be fun.
