WHAT.......HAPPENED...?

Best Lang, Johnny V & Boyes segment. What was Jeff talking about when he said there was one worse thing that happened on stream? Probably not the best question but I find this brand of spectacular off the rail stuff really funny and interesting to see.

@domineeto: One time Ryan said a pretty not-PC swear during a live Running of the Lanterns, and Ryan wrote a blog post about how bad he felt about it, and also the archive bleeped it out. I figure it's that?

It's the only thing I can think of that seems worse. I mean, Ryan randomly drinking human breast milk was medically dangerous, and drunk Dave Lang sorta yelling at Ed Boon was hilarious, but neither was complete madness in the way that Johnny V posting a cell phone number publicly became.

I have a new least favorite song.

I think it was a reference to a past event, when Leigh Alexander was on, and created a ton of drama, and spouted "775 million" over and over in relation to a games earnings (I believe WoW subscriptions). This is also where the "<>" became a thing that people do to close out a show.

This is sheer madness. I was watching the stream live last night, but went to bed right before the final segment. I missed everything. Watching it today, my reactions were pretty much mirroring Adam's.

V did Lang so dirty it was magical.

So, I'm confused. Lang keeps repeating he needs a new phone now, but couldn't he call his provider and get his number replaced or whatever? Or is that not how that works in the US? Or is he just trolling the everliving shit out of Johnny?

Also, I felt bad for Johnny... he just sat there like a punished puppy and it was just the saddest thing.

The last two segments represent what is so great about Giant Bomb. A super interesting talk with Lorne Lanning followed by complete drunken chaos.

The absolute best.

She was talking about how much Activision had payed to rent out the Staples Center.

@khessed: As an International Businessman, Lang is definitely more upset that he needs to change his phone number, especially if he's had the same number for sixteen years. It's going to be a hassle to get his number to all his Minions...and friends, if Lang has any of those.

@khessed: He probably could, but that doesn't solve the problem of giving his new number to EVERYONE that needs to be able to reach him. New phone is just money, the new number is going to chew through time in a profound way.

Frankly... Johnny V deserves to feel like he did. He did a real bad. For childish, disproportionate reasons. That he couldn't even articulate. Reflecting on it, it actually says something very significant about his character that should probably be addressed: he's very prone to feeling personally attacked or that people are out to get him. You can see it in basically every segment he's done on Giant Bomb this E3, and similar sorts of reactions from last year's post show. It (along with the alcohol) directly led to this scenario, which was clearly terrible. It's concerning.

With all respect to Rami, eating chips with a microphone made me want to strangle him.

I don't know why GB keeps letting this happen on air.

edit: I read Moonhunters kickstarter for what seems like years ago, and I read a Gamasutra article about their Square Enix collab, but this was the first time I actually understood what exactly the game is. So nice job at explaining it, it sounds way more interesting than I gave it credit for.

A great segment with Lorne Lanning, Jeff Green and John Drake on vr. The train wreck that followed was one for the ages. I love this website about games.

@murdoc_: <.< Have you gotten to the part where it's because of Ramadan? He was on the floor of E3 all day without anything to eat. The least Giant Bomb could do for their guest is let him have a snack. He was an awesome guest on all fronts to make up for it.

People keep asking this. The answer is simple (to me anyway, being a dumb nerd).

You can tell from the knowing glance Jeff shoots Lang when he says it. It is in reference to the Lang, JV, and Boon "incident" from GDC 2014. Lang was rather, eh, "merry" and it was a delightful shitshow of cringe comedy.

@murdoc_: You do realize that it was probably done as a joke, which then quickly ended?

That last segment felt like a fever dream. It was so late where I am (around 2 or 3 am) but I was so captivated I couldn't stop watching. I felt bad for Johnny V. You could tell he was legitimately sorry. I really hope they made up.

Besides that, I really enjoyed all the guests they got to come on. All the Vr and Ar talk got me even more hyped for the day I can actually put one of these headsets on for myself. E3 2015 was pretty awesome in my book. Great coverage as always GB!

Oh this last segment is fabulous.

See, the thing about the last segment was that it was already hilarious and going super well, and then the wheels just flew off.

As someone who has been on the site since close to the start:

This was the most magical and hilarious thing that has ever happened on stream.

And we've seen a lot of magical things.

The whole night was amazing. Highlights for me are Johnny v (obviously), Lanning, and Rorie's expressions after drinking vodka straight from the bottle at 1:36:35 :D

Yeah okay, fair enough, that's gonna take a lot of time. And yeah I know it's a terrible thing, totally realise that. Just couldn't help but feel sorry for him a bit.

This is finally the E3 coverage I was looking forward to.

Boy, that last segment was a magical shitshow. It started out tenuous enough and then flew off the rails completely in a way that was amazing to watch happen live.

Well that escalated rather quickly. Comedy goldmine!

Lorne Lanning is brilliant. The people that followed... Well, they're fun at least.

I didn't know who Lorne was until this stream. Guy is pretty awesome.
