It only really bothers me when there's other people on the panel I'd really like to hear from and there's one person hogging all attention going "HAY LOOK, I'M DRUNK!!!"

It's not like that's a GB problem though. Happens at every party I go to. Try to have a conversation with someone over some drinks and someone comes along to talk about titties or something.

Well that's when it bugs me. Jeff Cannata and Garnett Lee - among others - who I rarely get to see intermingling with the Giant Bomb team, and they barely get in a word. Jeff Cannata kept trying to steer the conversation back to games and eventually was successful, but the segment was almost over by that point.

So many threads are devoted to "Giant Bomb should hire *blank*" and of course they aren't going to, but when some of my dream cast members are actually assembled, it would be much more interesting to me to not have them all just chumming it up within a setting made awkward by - again - someone who becomes obnoxious when they get drunk, and actually talking about the topic which is the reason I listen to them.

But then, I sometimes get the feeling I'm in the minority in this community on my desire for video game talk.

@andrewb: I feel your pain, man. It seems like every year the E3 live shows increasingly deviate from a relaxed informal conversation about games and the industry to a drunkcast with a bunch of dudes speaking over each other, trying to out-funny everyone else and breaking each other's balls...and that's probably what Giantbomb (i.e. Jeff) wants. To be fair, you can get all the info you want about an upcoming game/feature/etc from a number of other sites, so I guess in a way Giantbomb is doing something different. Still, Greg was out of control and I'm guessing he went into to this with the plan to be like Chris Farley ("I'm going to curse, yell, show my flabby chest, get chicken wings all over myself and then show my flabby chest again!") Yeah...really funny...I guess.

These shenanigans are exactly why I come to Giant Bomb. I love to see all these people in the games development and games press coming together and hanging out as real people rather than just talking heads. I've never watched Greg Miller before, but I'm now a fan. I hope he doesn't get fired.

Keep up the great work GB, and keep ensuring your guests aren't thirsty.

In the past I have never thought that Greg Miller was even remotely funny. To the point I even stopped going to IGN, but after that show wow I found him hilarious!

I don't think you've seen someone who's out of control then. Or Chris Farley.

Greg was having fun, the other people who were there had fun too, and they made no indications that they found it inappropriate or out of line.

Is Greg Miller always like that, or was he just drunk? I guess people found him to be funny, and sometimes he was, but ultimately I found him to be rather obnoxious.

He's like that on Game Scoop. He somewhat rarely gets like that on Podcast Beyond. He seems to be a mix of the two on Up At Noon, what little I've seen of it. So...the drinks likely heightened that aspect of 'im a good bit. He can be quite funny, and he can be quite obnoxious...and his swings between the two are incredibly quick.

I think he works well with the crew headed up by dat Lang Zone producin' Dave. I personally wouldn't mind (and I am aware that this would be DIFFICULT to coordinate considering schedules) seeing a more distributed mix - have all the crazy motherfuckers all in one hilarious group of holyshit hilarity, and then have the more serious guys in a group to get down to brass tacks about some damn video games.

i love how people think Greg Miller was drunk... this is clearly just Greg being Greg.

Highlight of all of these shows was Greg tell Drake to sell his shirt on Ebay to fund his next kickstarter. Holy shit that was hilarious. Too bad i missed the chat blow up on that one live lol.

Greg looks gross without a shirt. I dont know, he seemed like he was really trying to be that wacky guy who'd be remembered for the hilarious antics during the E3-14 bombcasts.

This voice modulation business is kinda annoying :c Really liked the first batch of guests. Sherlock Holmes stories are always welcome.

Yeah, I haven't finished this yet, but if I didn't hear enough from Cara I'd probably be upset. She's been my favorite writer for awhile but I've never actually seen her or heard her talk.

Also she's eating American breakfast completely wrong! You have to eat all the hash browns and eggs and shit first, THEN you eat like half a pancake.

Greg Miller, Drake, Jhonny v and dave lang all on one segment!!!! Must be serving beers to the, n4 hand also!

Yeah, I think that would work better than having either of them kinda drown out quieter guests, as happened both here and in the Shuhei Yoshida segment.

As much as I love all of them, they work in different kinds of GB content. I think Greg Miller would work best in the Lang zone.

How come no one even mentioned L.A. Noire when McEllroy was talking about the choices in Sherlock Holmes? It sounds exactly like that game.

Nah, in LA Noir they keep score of how "correct" you are in your guesses, and iirc you get punished for the incorrect ones. The Sherlock Holmes game seems to not bother telling you whether you got it wrong or not, much less give a score of correctness.

it was nice being there live and having fun with everyone else on chat during Miller time; that was definitely the most enjoyment i've had out of the E3 broadcasts this year.

day after backlash people gonna be day after backlash people i guess.

That actually sounds better. As long as there are consequences later on this system is way more natural and less gamey, more similar to those decisions in The Witcher that you only see the outcome of much later in the game.

Yep, same way he pile-drivered a pillow during the Royal Rumble event. He tries way too hard to be noticed by acting like a child; next day he'll write about the immaturity in games...

Gotta agree with this. Despite the three hour run time it felt like there was more time time devoted to yucking it up rather than actually discussing games. Listening to Jeff Cannata and and Garnett Lee on their podcasts was far more informative than much of what we got here. I love Giant Bomb and it's great when they kick back a little but much of these podcasts felt less like a games podcast and more of a drunken party that just happened to be attended by people who work in the games business.

Satan/Zodiac Killer Greg Miller is amazing. We need a panel of Greg Miller, Johnny V, Justin Mcelroy, and John Drake, and Jonathan Blow. That would be amazing. Make it happen @patrickklepek!
