They have it at the Swedish state owened liquor store for 829SEK or about 125 USD. That's quite a lot more than the 80 bucks the guy paid though. Besides I would not appreciate good whiskey. Nice bottle though.

Holy fuck they even have a 1940 version for 154950SEK or about 20k USD. The state monopoly may be expensive but they have pretty much anything.

and for the record, I use to be a subscriber but haven't resubscribed because I'm waiting on more subscriber-worthy content. It was worth the subscription for Happy Hour alone, but now that it's gone...

Best I can come close to that is my parents bought a bottle of wine just after I was born (ditto my sister) & it was opened on my 18th. That was pretty neat. Would have prefered whisky though!

Glenlivet is a pretty good scotch, heck of a gift to send to them. I actually have some of the 12 year right now, that only runs me around $40 - not as good overall, but the quality to price ratio is very high.

Whiskey rocks are a gimmick. They are never cold enough, and even take on a weird smell. A little bit of water will actually help bring out the flavour in whiskey (whiskey is often diluted before the bottling process to reach the required alcohol proof).

Instead of whiskey rocks, you want large ice cubes, which will melt more slowly than conventional-sized ones.

Interesting someone over there must know their drink. Glenlivet Nadurra is an excellent Scotch. However I've found that America's Bourbons can equal and eclipse Scotland's finest. If you ever have a chance; try some Van Winkle Lot B (12 years) or any of the Pappy Van Winkles (15, 20, 23). These are the finest whiskeys (bourbons) that I've ever tasted. Cheers.
