I almost left for work early, but I had to wait for this podcast for the drive. I blame Giant Bomb for not leaving work early. I have no control or responsibility for my actions.

Twilight Princess is a great game, too bad most people only know the inferior Wii version.

I actually think it's a better overall game than Wind Waker as much as I love that game's style. There's just much more going on in Twilight, Wind Waker was easy and short in comparison.

Damn, another slightly short episode :(. They used to be closer to 3hrs.

QuakeWorld, written by John Carmack with help from John Cash and Christian Antkow, was released in December 1996. Further development was later taken over by David Kirsch and Jack Mathews.

From my own knowledge:

David Kirsch, AKA Zoid (I think he actually legally changed his name to Zoid Kirsch), was the creator of Threewave CTF and later worked on Metroid Prime 1 & 2 and now works at Valve on Dota2.

Jack Mathews, AKA Morbid, was one of the guys that created QSpy (which became QuakeSpy and then GameSpy). I don't know what he does now.

So while it was initially created by Carmack and some Id employees, it was updated and maintained by modders.

I've hear that red light thing was an unfortunate mistake. Green or blue-green light is better to both maintain nightvision and also be able still tell different colors apart. Long hours spent developing film tells me low level red light is pretty crappy to actually work in.

I swear they have this *exact* same discussion whenever someone brings up Zelda. Every time. Dan barely gets a word in about the HD release before Jeff is off again.
