@theveej: Your exact problem is being as uneducated about the whole issue as anyone who was forcefully mutilated. Your post just proves that matter tenfold. If your genitals have been modified for no reason you have undergone genital mutilation.

If you have no problems because of your circumcision, I can only feel happy for you. And probably the majority of circumcised males, who have no complaints.

But I feel even one horror story of a botched circumcision is one too many, because it is (except for specific medical reasons) a pointless, unnecessary esthetic procedure. But hey, you're maybe slightly less likely to get HIV if you don't use a condom (which is unwise, making that benefit pointless).

I just can't understand how a practice started by nomad desert tribes, before proper hygiene was available, somehow is considered better than the way you are born. It seems backwards to me.

But in the end (and I really wish to stop talking about this), it's not about being against for or against circumcision. It's the fact that parents make that choice for their child, and that just isn't ethical, in my opinion. One way or the other it's a decision impacting that child's life, and the choice of circumcision is pretty much irreversible.

I would gladly pay for four years' worth of premium membership for this to be a thing for both the podcast and the video threads. I don't know why I never learn.

The United States is the only country on earth where the majority of people circumcise infant males for non-religious purposes. Its a weird culture. People pretend its about near non-existent health benefits when its actually 100% cosmetic. Most American dads are circumcised, most American women think that circumcised penises are the norm. They want the boy to look like dad or not "scare" away potential mates. Cosmetic, cosmetic, cosmetic. Not a good enough reason to make an irreversible decision for a child. I won't throw around hyperbole like "mutilation"; I realize the majority of circumcisions are preformed without complication, however, the potential for complication and the loss of sensation would not allow me to make a decision for my son that he could later make for himself.

You're circumcised? Great, have fun, don't do it to your kid for no good reason.

You're not circumcised? Great, have fun, try not to demonize those who are.

This really just needs to be a feature on anything on the internet with a comments section. Although might I suggest, instead of Hardcore Dave, we just use the 'NO' lady?

Man, what's with all the hate on droid phones on the bombcast? I've had mine for a few months now and I love it.

Welcome back Vinny (wasn't until this email to realize how much I missed ya)!!! All this talk of horror movies & girlfriends who love them (or love getting scared by them) reminds me how much my current stock of friends & ex-girlfriends just doesn't fit in a good solid love for horror films.

PS-to the people wanting more actual (digital) pinball table goodness, try out the Williams & Gottlieb collections on the last fairly recent consoles to get more real life pinball tables to play on.

Hearing Jeff talk about Fez just sold me on the game.

I only really pay attention to the podcast when I drink.

Holy cow. Had to replay Vinnie's account of early fatherhood for the wife. We just had our first a few months ago and Vinnie was SPOT ON in recounting the horrors of those first few weeks. I feel for ya brother. Said the wife after hearing Jessie's lament about the "lies" of around the birth experience: "I love her!"

Great show, gentlemen. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. As a father of 2 little spawn, can relate to Vinny's experience. He seems pretty well adjusted, all things considered.

Statement: I nor like or dislike iPhones or Android phone ... I prefer PC over consoles but see the value and fun in consoles.

That said: I think it's the same as with PC gaming and console gaming. iPhones seem to be a much more streamlined experience. Most Android phones are, in theory, as capable or even better than an iPhone but they do require a little more effort to use them. Same with consoles: Streamlined, easy to use devices. A PC, while in general more powerfull, takes more work and knowledge to use.

What I've learned from the first 20 minutes of this podcast:

Babies want to kill themselves.

Deus Ex: Human Rev is Mass Effect 3.

Fez is awesome.

The game looks like a bad pc port. Muddy textures hella screen tearing all over this game. Apparently "deep" translates into horrible menus and weird skill trees that, with a good RPG vocabulary and history with the genre, doesn't make the transition for me. No Duder, you are NOT alone.

Holly shit I'm buying FEZ. When you guys said you talked to the dev about multi universe I got really exited, it sounds amazing! When I say the game play it look like if there was a 2D world where a 2D being gains the ability to exist in 3 dimensions. It looked plausible, like Vinny said. They way you guys are describing this game is blowing my mind. This game seems surprisingly philosophical.

That FEZ game sounds really deep. String theory and multi-verses definitely came to mind while watching that quick look. I'm way in to all that crazzy philosophical shit. Im definitely getting FEZ.

Vinny's back and we get one of the best bombcasts in a while.

There's no way to make this sound not snarky without a preamble so..I don't mean this snarkily because I had the same question until I read the books:

The reason the potion system in the Witcher series works the way it does is because the devs seem to have set out (and succeeded) at making THE witcher experience that is in the books. In the books, Geralt always prepares for a tough fight, does his research, knows what he's going into, then meditates and drinks the appropriate potions. I both admire and am frustrated by the devs' absolute commitment to creating the experience THEY want to create.

Mention what game you are talking about more than once :)

Sometimes I miss the title and then you keep talking for 20 minutes about it and I wonder what game it is ;-)

And yeah, I always listen to the podcast when I'm on the go and can't easily rewind then.

Best Bombcast in a while, between the return of Vinny and Jeff's enthusiasm about Fez.

I was playing Dark Souls while listening to Vinny's discussion of parenthood, which made the prospect of having a kid sound doubly frightening!

I just do not agree, except on the basics, the view of Deus Ex, human rev.. I know it ended a bit poorly..that's being wrapped up in the traditional ending of a Deus Ex game. The last boss battle also could have been a real battle. I thought the lady-bad guy was pretty competent at her job, and they didn't exploit that enough. Have her cruelly and explicitly torture the hapless jacked girls to rev cyber power up to 11 or something. Get you involved with what was being done there. (pretty sick) On the other hand i personally enjoyed Deus Ex Human Rev so much that I accepted the endings because of the framework. or at least I wasn't dismissive... stilted as it was though w/a side eject button to boot...

Still this solves the silence at the end of last year over Deus Ex.

Fez be on the list, good small games out right now.

@bybeach: For what it's worth I agree with you. The problems they have with DX seem minor to me and I loved the game immensely for the 39 hours before the last 1. It was probably my GOTY, even above Skyrim. I played it three times in a row!
